Do you prefer strong MCs, flawed MCs, or morally grey MCs?

Depends on the story! I don't have a strong preference in that aspect, so if it's well written, then it's okay for the MC to be the way she is

I really believe that any character can become a favorite or a preferred type if the story is fun and well written and the characters can reflect their personalities without it becoming a stale, overused trope.

Strong MCs that stick to their guns and are unwilling to bend to fit ideals or compromise morals can be so!! good to read with the feeling of rooting for a hero or even the playful frustration of wanting them to change their minds. ( ◡̀_◡́)ᕤ

On the other hand, a true morally grey MC (especially f!mc) are much more rare so there are tons of avenues of unexplored stories to be able to fully flesh out a wonderfully psuedo-villain that you still want to succeed with a heavy heart. ദ്ദി˙∇˙)ว

Flawed MCs especially when it's realistic to the setting. I like girlbosses as much as everyone else, but it tires me to see an MC be competent or witty in situations they really shouldn't be like that in. The reverse (aka the total doormat) is also annoying to deal with because they're written to have 0 braincells or thoughts for the sole purpose of drama or plot sometimes. The in-between is just perfect.

I'm drawn to people who are dedicated to their work and have strong leadership and decision making abilities. But in a relationship, I'd still want them to have a soft side as well. Haha, is that asking for too much?
