Do you prefer strong MCs, flawed MCs, or morally grey MCs?

Personally, I think flawed or morally grey MCs can make a story way more interesting because they actually feel like characters with their own beliefs, mistakes, and motivations. But I'm curious what everyone prefers. Do you want an MC you can easily root for, one who feels more realistic and imperfect, or one who can make questionable choices?

I want flawed MCs, but not flawed as in shes unbelievably stupid and does nothing to help the plot, I mean flawed as in trying her best but isnt good at everything. Also, flawed MCs can still be strong! And thats what makes them interesting, to see all the different dimensions of a character whether good or bad.

It would also be really fun to see how she grows throughout the story and learns to self reflect and overcome her flaws or personal challenges. I have honestly yet to come across a compelling heroine whos had this much depth though

I'm fine with either, but I really want them to have a strong personality. I don't want a passive, generic MC who could just be dropped into any other game. I prefer a fully fleshed-out character with their own history, clear agency, distinct traits, and something non-negotiable they stand for.

I think it depends on the story, but I like when MCs have their own agency too.

It would be nice if there was a flawed MC that grew up differently on each route, but I have yet to see that, I think...

I think any one of the three would be fine as long as the mc actually has their own personality and is realistic to some point. I like the mc having some flaws and realistic aspects because it makes them more relatable. I think it would be nice to have a morally gray mc that sides with no one and is slightly on the dark side. It would give the story more depth.

I don't have a specific preference; I think MC should have the kind of personality that keeps the story moving and engaging. I'm completely open to scenarios where the protagonist needs to be innocent and naive for certain events to unfold, just as I appreciate it when she's strong and tries to handle everything on her own—it's all about finding the right balance.

I guess it depends on the story and setting. I usually like strong MCs but depending on the story and background i find that i wish for different qualities and choices

Combine 3 of the said personality for uniqueness? Nevertheless i don't have any preferences toward any MCs personality. Every action needs purpose and reason, give the MC a reasonable and valid answer why they act like that is what intriguing me (unless the reason was lame or maybe they're like that from the beginning), plus point if there's some positive growth process through the plot.

I don't really have a type as long as the MC feels present enough in the story. I'm not someone who inserts herself into otome games, so I prefer MCs who feel like actual characters, regardless of whether they're strong, flawed, or morally grey. I don't need them to be super interesting or anything, just have more than one trait and enough importance to the story that they can move the plot forward on their own. I guess I really don't like when it's the LIs who get all the spotlight.

I think I'd choose a flawed protagonist. I feel like it would be more natural and relatable, because I like getting to know a character little by little and understanding why they think or act a certain way. I don't mind a protagonist I can easily empathize with, but I feel like if I connect with her too quickly, it might remind me more that I'm playing a game, if that makes sense lol.

As for making questionable decisions, I think it depends on how questionable they are. Since it's fiction, I can forgive things I probably wouldn't forgive in real life, but I still have certain limits. So I definitely prefer an imperfect protagonist who can grow and develop throughout the story.

I have no preference, but I definitely do think a flawed mc gives more flavor to the story, especially when sometimes I can relate/understand why they would feel emotions or do actions that might not seem to be "correct"

I want the MC to be stronger and supportive than having flaws and need to fix it. But, I still think the Grey zone give me story interesting with background stories that make him who he is today! Strong MC are hard to find in otome game, but I love Kaname from Vamipre Knight! He is so strong in the beginning and being supportive onichan role. But at the end, he have flawed that makes him who he is today! So, kinda mixed feeling of fixing this characters. I don't feel responsible to fix a guy in my own opinion. But the storywise, it makes more spicy and interesting.

Actually, anything works for me depending on the story, so I enjoy all kinds of MCs. But I'm most drawn to morally grey MCs. I feel like humans are never simply good or bad. Everyone has many sides, including the ones they hide. We only know what they choose to show us, so we can never really know what's going on inside their heads. I think that kind of complexity makes characters feel more realistic and the story more interesting.

I like anything, so long as she's not completely helpless or made to feel like she is choosing every bad option due to stupidity. Every heroine has their own backstory, and I really like seeing them have an understandable train of thought!

Morally grey MCs are probably the most interesting to me! I like protagonists who don't always make the "right" choice and have their own motivations, even when I don't completely agree with them. It can make the story much more interesting!

I like strong MCs too, but I think morally grey MCs are the most interesting to me. I don't think the MC always has to make the right choices or be a good person. Since it's fiction, I think it's interesting to see protagonists who think or act in ways that might not generally be considered "right." I also really like MCs with strong individuality, so I especially enjoy it when a protagonist has their own unique personality and way of thinking.

mmm it depends on the game, i like flawed because it does make it more realistic to see growth but i dont want them to be flawed to the point where its unbearable. it shows how they can grow in the game!

i dont like strong heroines. i dont *hate* them of course, but id like it if the main plot strength did lie with the love interests. theyre supposed to have the spotlight and steal my heart, after all! also, stronger heroines are harder for me to selfinsert into, because im a weakling, so thats another point against. but its not like i dont want to see strong heroines at all..!

i havent seen many morally grey heroines though, so i feel this might be interesting to have!

I think they all are fine honestly. What I can't stand though are MCs who cant speak up when necessary or keep thinking the right thing but never putting it in words. And for some reason I find myself liking the knight type of MC the most aka the ones with a strong sense of justice.
