Do you prefer softer/realistic romances or intense ones?

I definitely prefer intense romances. I like relationships with a lot of emotional tension, complicated feelings, and strong chemistry between the characters. I enjoy it more when the romance feels dramatic and has some kind of emotional weight rather than being too soft or predictable. Give me characters who struggle with their feelings, have complicated dynamics, and make the romantic development feel really impactful.

it depends on my mood, but i love both of them. sometimes i would love to experiences the soft, and realistic romance though i love it also if it is intense. because thinking someone who love you THAT much that they're becoming unhinge is actually not that bad. only if it is from an ikemen, someone i also like, and only in fiction.

"Peaceful, realistic romance" or "dramatic love that overcomes hardship"—I honestly can't choose between the two. Even though I usually long for calm, everyday scenes, there are moments when I just crave a story full of conflict and trial.

But no matter the dynamic, what I truly look for is consistency that respects who the characters are. As long as their core identity stays true and their love story unfolds naturally within the world of the story, I can truly fall in love with their journey, no matter what direction it takes.

I enjoy romances that start out gently and develop slowly and naturally, as well as more dramatic ones. However, when I read too many stories with a calm, realistic romance, I start to crave a little excitement.
I enjoy dramatic stories for what they can offer as fiction. That said, I'm not a fan of love-at-first-sight stories or romances where the heroine is unconditionally showered with love, because I find them less immersive.
The more interesting, romantic, and thrilling the story is, the more enjoyable the reading experience feels to me!

I completely get where you're coming from! Realistic, softer romances where they naturally become each other's safe place are so comforting and actually believable in the long run. That said, I'm definitely guilty of being weak to that crazy, life-or-death intensity in fiction lmao. In real life, that kind of suffocating devotion would be an immediate red flag, but in an otome? Give me all the unhinged yearning, drama, and mutual obsession! I guess I just love the emotional rollercoaster for pure entertainment, while soft romances are my comfort food when I need to heal.

Either way is fine. It depends on the script — if a gentle, realistic story is poorly written, it can become really boring and bland; while a more romantic and exciting story, if not done well, can turn out cheesy and make people want to laugh at it.

AIt depends on the situation. If I'm feeling down, I like to listen to realistic drama CDs because they're easy to imagine, easy to relate to, and comforting.But if I'm in a good mood, I tend to listen to intensive drama CDs. It's exciting, I like it.
