Do you prefer plot-heavy otome or romance-focused ones

Ideally I prefer both of them, though I'm not strict about it when picking which otome to play. Sometimes I'm in for some nice character interactions and banters, and how the relationship develops between the MC and the LIs. In which case, I pick a romance-focused otome. Other times, I might find the premise of a game interesting and end up perfectly enjoying the game and its story, even if it doesn't have much romance. Overall, as long as the game doesn't feel like it's completely lacking in one of the categories, I'm fine with either of them.

I also prefer romance over plot. My ideal would be like 60% romance - 40% plot. I enjoy stories with plot because the world feels grounded and I like seeing how the events or environment affects the characters. It also gives more life to the characters, so I appreciate them more. It's the best when certain plot events become the impetus for the characters to grow closer and fall in love! However, if there is too much plot and little romance then I end up feeling unsatisfied (like others have mentioned). On the other hand, too much romance can sometimes feel like there is little substance, but it also depends on my mood. Its fun to enjoy a straightforward heavy romance game and take in fluff after plot heavy games.

Curious to see what plot heavy otome or romance heavy otome people enjoy 👀

Personally, I feel a greater sense of fulfillment after finishing a story-driven work. That said, there are plenty of titles I love where romance is the main focus! A work wouldn't really hold together without either element, so I suppose balance is key.

I also like otome game with balance plot and romance. Too heavy plot can make it boring and when I'm not in the mood, I'll skip most of the dialogue. If it only focus on romance, it becomes boring too because it feels packing. So fifty fifty is the best proportion.

If story driven the story must be perfect. I have several times that the story driven part is boring and just keep on clicking A to the short romance part. And the although some of the story driven games are very impressing, but I have no motivation to play it again after the "true route" reveals all the secrets, but the romance part (no matter what game it is) is something that I will go back and read again.

As much as possible, I prefer it to be a balance one, as it would be much more immersive for the characters relationahip and dynamic but if not possible, I would much prefer one that is plot heavy than the romance heavy side. I just really get into the story more if it's about the plot itself and the world around it.

I know some people prefer story-driven games over romance. Personally, I prefer a 50/50 balance. Too much focus on one side usually makes the other feel lacking.

I changed the question because I accidentally posted a duplicate, and I don't know how to delete it :P
