Do you like secret love interests or not?

Yes! but sometimes i kinda hate it because the secret Li always have the shortest route 😭 and their route is continue in sequel/FD.
 
i like it but what i didn't like is how tedious it is to get their route or maybe because i'm just lazy (bcz either you need to make certain choices or play all the endings of the other LIs routes) and most of the time they don't have much content/screentime at the end which sucks
 
It really depends on the game. I enjoy secret routes when I like the character, but if I don't, they can get pretty boring.
 
Compared to a hidden character who barely shows up in the game and only suddenly appears in his own route,
I much prefer when a well-developed,
charismatic sub character who's been present throughout the story turns out to be a hidden romance option.
In that situation, when the pop-up says his route has been successfully unlocked,
the rush of excitement in that moment is just unreal.
It makes you want to dive headfirst into his story and get completely swept up in it.
 
Absolutely! They've never been a miss for me so far and it's such a nice surprise to think they're just a side character and then boom, they actually have a route. Although I do get where your friend is coming from, it does suck since they don't get the same treatment with the other LIs, not only in merch but also in the game. Less CGs, the routes end up being too short and the romance feels rushed at times

They just give interesting and charming vibes than other LI for me so I love them! And game more fun to finish to open the secret LI

Yes! It always makes things more intriguing and motivate me to finish all of the routes faster
 
I like it as long as I don't need to clear all LI routes to unlock it because it's takes too much time
 
Usually yes, but it really depends on the game and the writing. I love it when the secret LI is integrated well into the plot. Not so much when they come out of nowhere and barely has anything to do with the plot or main cast. The kind of secret LI I like is the type that's like the one from the first Hanayaka Nari, Waga Ichizoku.

Usually, those characters aren't available right away and you have to clear the other LIs first, right? But while I'm playing through their routes to get to the secret LI, I always end up falling for one of the other LIs instead... So I feel like the secret LI has rarely ever ended up being my absolute favorite.

That moment when the "Secret Romance Route" unlocks while you're playing—the rush of excitement that makes your heart leap is simply irresistible. It sends my enthusiasm soaring to the max, as if to say, "This is exactly what I've been waiting for!

It's depends on how it's executed. Honestly, in my experience, the true/locked route always felt somewhat lacking due to the fact that these types of routes usually fail to balance the actual romance and the extensive lore dump that they have going on. I think the worst "true" route I ever experienced was in TOKYO 24-ku (bl).
 
Yes, I like them. I enjoy playing hide and seek, and if they think they won't be found, they are terribly mistaken. :evillaugh:

That sounds less like "I don't like LIs" problem, and more like a "I love secret LIs but there's not enough goodies to feed my addiction" problem. :ROFLMAO:

I'm going to agree with mostly everyone here. I love secret LIs, but I am sad when their route is shorter. Even if they're secret, I want them to be treated with the same care and consideration as any other love interest.

This. 100%. Sometimes there are side characters that are SO GOOD, it should be an actual crime that you can't romance them. 😭

I do like a secret LI, but if I have to go out of my way to get it, like completing all routes and stuff, then I'll have to pass.
