Do you like otome game fanfiction?

ABSOLUTELYYYY.

For me the otome game doesn't end with the story - good fanfiction expands on so many angles and so many authors are good at keeping the LI in character.

However as I've been playing unlocalized games I started reading Japanese fanfiction and I gotta say...they're even better authors :swearveng:

They're such good writers! I'd say even better than most AO3 fics.

absolutely <3
especially when it is my OTP and I am still drunken/drowned in sorrow after finishing the main game (;´༎ຶД༎ຶ`)
The first 2 weeks of grief after finishing a good otome...it needs to be studied. Only fanfiction can quench that thirst :forsaken:

The only fanfictions I liked was for Touken Ranbu, but I don't really like otome game fanfic. To me it feels like the relationship dynamic and character personalities don't feel the same as in the game and so many of them had really bad writing

Since the characters in otome games have already reached their endings, I feel like I don't need to read fanfiction; it's already enough for me..!

I like reading fan fiction, but I only read stories where the main character is well-developed.

I tend to not like fanfic in general. A lot of it feels more like wish fulfillment than it does a genuine attempt to write a new adventure in the same world, using the same characters. As someone else said, it also doesn't tend to respect the characters' established traits and personalities because it's all about writing a path that the original author decided not to, often to the detriment of the characters.

I used to read a lot of fanfiction when I was younger, but I stopped when I saw a lot of people deviating on how a character is to how they'd wish a character would act. It's like they have their own fanon instead of the canon way the character is supposed to be. It makes me a bit unsettled in a way. I know some fanart does that but I see less of that some way.

To be honest, I don't really like fan works. They often change the story or the characters, and I prefer the original work.

That said, I don't mind some fan art. If it's well-drawn, stylish, or funny, I enjoy looking at it. I just don't enjoy character or story changes very much.

I do like it a lot! ☺️ Not just fanfics but also fan art hehe It's just because otome games sometimes don't have a lot of after-content, or the sequel sometimes takes a long time to come out. So, fanfics or fan art can sometimes give the LI a lot of backstory or show other players' perspectives about them.

Yes, I do! But not as often as fanfiction of other works if I think back on it because I'm quite pickier in regards of my otome fanfiction

I'm okay with pairings between love interests, but usually I like monogamous pairings or just a giant polycule of all the love interests and my heroine haha!

To be honest, I've never seen fanfiction on otome games))It seems to me that these appear only when a person is very unhappy with the ending of the RO or the entire novel x)
