Do you have a specific preference to the timing and environmental facts when playing games?

Frankly, I have very specific preferences when it comes to timing and environment. When I'm exhausted from work or other chores, I don't play PC and otome games; I ONLY prefer to play my games at home comfortably, no disturbances and no unnecessary worries. I do know there are people who are fine with playing games while travelling, that they will bring their consoles, equipment, and gaming laptops along but I'm not into that really...feels like I'm limited to do anything when I'm gaming in other unfamiliar spaces.

I do this too! I like to get really immersed in it, so playing anywhere other than at home with no disturbances feels wrong. I've tried playing on vacation while resting, but it just doesn't feel right

Definitely at home!

I refuse to play any handheld games while traveling, in a car or on a train. My carsickness will worsen, I choose to sleep instead lol. Playing while sitting comfortably is the best, but if the otome game has a heavy plot that requires my full concentration or might inflict trauma lol, I choose to play it on the weekend instead.

On the weekend, I can play for as long as I want!

I find that playing games outside quickly drains my energy, probably because of the crowds. I prefer playing at home, where it's familiar and comfortable, rather than in unfamiliar places!

Late night at home is most common for me. Checking back my screenshots in later days/years is fun. I don't tend to leave one character route open for long unless, my feelings for the character are special enough I either don't want to end it, or end it in a certain way, or proceed to another character. Stage of life, moods matter a lot about what games and who I need at that moment.

I tried to play a bit with friends before but I just notice how we enjoy media and characters differently that it wasn't that interesting except, my friends now have strong stereotypes towards my tastes without understanding.

I definitely prefer playing at home. I have a hard time concentrating in other places, so I like being comfortable and relaxed to fully immerse myself in the story.

I totally agree that I'd rather play games when I'm feeling energetic and in a place where I feel comfortable and safe. Even at home, I'd probably feel a little awkward playing an otome game on a big screen in front of my family.

And if I were playing outside and a CG of a character pushing me down suddenly appeared, I'd probably slam the sleep button as fast as I could! If someone saw me grinning at the screen, they might think I was being creepy.

BWAHAHAHAHHAA I KNOW THE AWKWARDNESS!!! That's why I don't play games nor listen to otome CDs when I'm out of my house.

Exactly, THIS! PRECISELY. I prefer that way too though unfortunately.... I am constantly tired out by work and chores. Sometimes until the extend of falling asleep in the middle of an otome game if I chose to exhaust myself for the game despite coming back from work...and this is exactly the reason why I haven't finished RESIDENT EVIL 9 yet since May...

I also prefer playing at home, especially when I have a good amount of free time, like on weekends or holidays. I find that I can get much more immersed when I have a longer stretch of time to play, rather than only playing for an hour or two on weekdays.

I prefer playing games in comfortable and familiar environments, such as at home or a relaxing place alone.

I don't care about external things or other people's opinions; I can play whenever I want without being disturbed or having my progress interrupted.

When traveling, I'd rather spend my time exploring the real world than immersing myself in the 2D world, as it only distracts me and doesn't allow me to fully enjoy the game.

I also avoid playing games while waiting for the bus or commuting, or during breaks, for safety reasons.
