I usually just go straight for the LIs that catches my eyes first since usually I downloaded a game because a character catches my interest so I'm excited to play the LI's route first! ^^

I like to follow a recommended route order mainly for storyline purposes. Sometimes I get lucky when a LI I'm interested in (either due to visuals or voice) is the first route I have to go through, but then it's also absolute agony if they're the last route I have to play! Even so, I don't regret following recommended route orders because the writing just ends up making the most sense in that order.

I always look up the recommended route order first and stick to it. I have such bad decision paralysis that I can't just pick whoever catches my eye first lol.
If I really can't find a recommended order anywhere, I usually just go in reverse order from the character order on the official website.

I usually don't look at recommended routes when playing games. I'll play my favorite male lead route first. Then slowly play with other character routes, gradually progressing from the most interested to the next. According to the recommended route, I always feel like the game plot has been revealed in advance haha.

I do the first route of the character I am interested without guides. Then, I try to get the other endings of that character.
Only if I dislike a character I do it with guide or if I see that I skipped some other ending while looking at a review blog.
I want to enjoy the gameplay first, otherwise I would just look at gameplay videos of that otome game (￣▽￣;)

me too!! i usually like following the suggested route order but if we're free to choose, i'm the opposite! i like saving my fave for last so i have something to look forward to while playing the other routes ( ◜‿◝ )♡

haha i totally get that! it's rare for me to be completely disinterested in a character but when it happens i also use a guide so i can still get 100% completion on every route <(￣︶￣)>

It is rare for me too, but there are some characters that I just can't get along even when I start their route haha

I usually follow recommended route orders because I want to get the best experience out of the game. However, I sometimes lose interest halfway through and drop the game before reaching the character I was looking forward to the most.

Honestly, I'd just go straight for the LIs route that catches my eyes 'cause it's way more enjoy to play that way. Then maybe later I'd check out the other routes too, since I'd definitely get curious and wanna uncover everything myself :3

I like experiencing the story the way the developers intended, since some routes can reveal information that makes later routes hit harder. But if a route order is only a recommendation and doesn't affect the story much, I'll sometimes just pick whoever I'm most interested in first.

No, I always pick the guy I like the most to play first. I once saved my bias for last, but by the time I finally reached his route, I already knew almost the entire plot. As a result, the experience fell completely flat, and I ended up deeply regretting it.
Now, I only follow a set order if the game forces me to, like when you have to clear Route A first to unlock B, C, or D.

In most cases, I follow the recommended route order. I feel that it makes the story and conversations the easiest to understand and follow smoothly.
If I come across conversations in another route that assume I already know certain settings or situations, it can suddenly make me feel less immersed in the story.
So, as far as I can find the information beforehand, I try to follow the recommended route order.

sometimes!!! in certain otome games i like to save the true route per se for last because it's always fun to see the intended romance path the characters took. i do like it when there's ssome flexibility though!!

Yes! pretty much always, but there are some exceptions, of course. If I'm really interested in a certain Li from the get-go, I'd choose his route as my first to sate my curiosity. Then I'll get back on track and follow the recommended route order again.

That's mostly the case. Because of times I didn't follow the recommended order (eg Over Requiemz), I regretted playing it differently. But this time I'll blame my friend who said the order didn't matter ｡:ﾟ(;´∩`;)ﾟ:｡
