Do you find long-running titles intimidating or harder to get into?

For me, it's not really a problem (fortunately); it's more about whether I'm in the right mood to start a title. I recently started the Sumire no Tsubomi series, and I plan to move on to Hoshi no Oujo after I 100% complete it. Usually, these series just require a bit more time; once I start, I find it easier to keep going. In rare cases, though, I lose motivation due to the plot and get bored halfway through, which makes finishing them take a lot longer. I'm dealing with that right now with Temirana (sobbing): I started it, played two routes, paused to play Sins of Kaleido (which I've already finished), and now I need to go back to it.

I get that. I've played Hakuouki, but I haven't played all the games. There's just so much content that it can feel a bit overwhelming. I don't mind long series but when there are too many sequels and fandiscs, I feel like I have to play all of them so I keep putting it off.

I never truly felt about the length of franchise this way.
I just get interested in such titles because there are a lot of content. I played only Starry Sky from franchises you mentioned and I quite liked it. So I would just say, I understand the possible interest in them

Yes, because I often have this desire to want to play things in the "right" order, even if it's a series that is only loosely connected haha.

If it's a genre or scenario writer I really like,
then long-running titles really get me excited and make me want to jump right in!
The Alice series by QR, for example, was such a wonderful magical journey.
And if the gameplay system is fun too, that's an even bigger bonus, like with the Corda and GS series.

Not really! I actually prefer games that have sequels or fan discs. Seeing that a title has follow-ups makes me even more motivated to play it. It just means there's more content and worldbuilding to enjoy, so I don't find it intimidating at all.

Definitely! Long-running series are pretty intimidating to me, especially when they have multiple games.

I have less free time nowadays too, so committing to an entire series can feel a bit overwhelming. 🥲

No, i actually get exited if one game is good then that means there is even more of it there. It is not like you have to play them all in one sitting.

depend. if i find the main game interesting enough sometimes i'd like to try the FD or whatsoever, if it's just fine then i think i'll stop with the main game title only. But now you mention about it, most of my favorite games ended without them having any FD/spin off sadly.

The one that i find troublesome is Olympia Soiree Catharsis. even though i still haven't touched the games some people mentioning about OS Catharsis, despite being the sequel it is STILL REQUIRING you to play it with some route order, since as usual Akaza route is being locked (once again).

I would say I definitely don't mind if a series is long, but sometimes I need to consider it for my wallet if it's worth the investment 。:゚(;´∩`;)゚:。
