Do you consider gameplay to be important in otome games?

I guess it depends on how well integrated and made the systems is for me. I really enjoyed TMGS, Love Revo, Bro Con, Storm Lover, Wand, and Bara ni Kakusareshi Verite. But I do have to be in the mood to play these types of otome games. I think they take more planning and following a walkthrough more rigorously, so if I am tired or just not in the mood for much brain usage, I just play the strictly VN games.

yeah definitely! if it is just still images and audio with nothing else to do then i might as well read a novel instead ;-;. i like having gameplay elements because they make the experience more engaging and give me something to interact with besides just reading

Not really, but I've struggled to clear some otome VN on SW1 too since I find some stories to be boring overall. Yes, I would like more FeMC options in games like P3P, but that's not happening anytime soon unless you count FE3H, which was not really otome and it's more like SRPG with optional romance too.

I don't play gacha or mobile since I felt like devs making me do chores for like .05c of prem currency is a terrible way to waste my time when I can waste money in way more fun things too.

The last otome I finished was Hana Awase, and damn was I tired of grinding ranking 3x each way since they unlocked CGs behind the top rank, and it's a slog after a few hours vs it being easy for story progress, lol.

I honestly enjoy an otome game way more when there is some form of gameplay. I love books and reading in general so I also love visual novels, but I definitely get way more hooked on otome with gameplay (stat raising, minigames, RPGs, card games, literally anything)

I do!! if a game is a stat raiser or has similar elements i'm sold. Tokimemo my beloved.

Not really into gacha style games or anything that though. Action gameplay and otome don't really blend for me
