Do people like console games ported to pc?

Of course it would be nice if a game ported to PC only if they optimize it properly. PC games is usually cheaper than consoles cause there are many resellers

I prefer PC because they have larger screens and are more convenient. I spend the most time on my PC daily, and it's easier to upgrade components. My only concern is whether the ported content will be complete and whether the optimization will be faster rather than slower.

I would like playing ported games on PC if not for the fact they always seem to heavily edit them for audiences and cut out all the interesting stuff.
For porting console games to PC?? Do you have anything specific in mind? I've always heard of things being censored or cut from PC to console releases but not the other way round!

sorry i can't think of any of them right off the top of my head because they're usually the ones I go hunting for for any darker themes or forbidden romances and the titles are japanese. but basically every single time I manage to find a copy of a recommended game, the darker things will be sanatised or removed from the Steam version.

Ahh so it's more Japan->International cut/edits (because steam releases are generally "global" version)? If that's the case then I can see changes being made.

Because I move frequently, it's difficult for me to carry many different game consoles with me, and I often end up not being able to play them. So I'm happy when games are ported to PC, even if there are no additional features.

I spend most of my time on the computer, and I can sit properly to enjoy a larger screen, which is a good thing for someone like me who is nearsighted.

to be honest i always supporting the bold decision for every otome games title that ported to PC. Bigger screen and efficiency of the untranslated game to translate it using translator app like luna translator. But alas that only happen to small indie/doujin group. the reason why the big dev not porting their IPs to PC? money. let's be honest, pc games is a lot cheaper than console one, i mean imagine 1 title cost 6k-8k yen, whilst pc version sometimes 1k yen cheaper or far more cheaper. but sometimes it is so sad to mentioning their quality control to porting the game to PC it's more or less half asses port like bustafellow that some member stated here before ngl.

the company that i appreciate for porting some otome title to PC version is PQube that releasing them to PC and translating them too to english (there's also huanle baishi for chinese publisher that porting otoge to PC to chinese fans), but about the quality and bug fix control? imo PQube need to improve more tbh.

Well if you're talking about Steam then maybe, given how cheap steam games can be on discount. But actually PC versions of visual novels can cost quite a fair bit on sites like MG and DLsite, though they are still generally cheaper and much easier to find ways to get discount.

I believe one of the biggest if not the biggest reasons companies don't port games to PC is because they think there is not much of a demand for PC users playing their games. This is especially true in Japan where PC gaming is just not that popular as a whole compared to other forms of gaming. So if a company makes the effort to port a PC release, they are usually aiming for the international market too.

I like playing games on both console and PC and usualy pick what to play it on based on game genre, accessability and price! Anything that is more comfortable to play with a controler ill generally get on console whereas visual novels and other more point and clicky type titles or pixel rpgs ill usually play on PC (especally since a lot of console releases get censored) as those mediums make the gameplay more comfortable. I also prefer to own a physical copy of games I really like so there are a few games I own on multiple devices to ensure that ill always have a way to access it. Also with the rise of handheld gaming its sometimes good for me to be able to access games "on the go" since I cant really unplug my PC and drag that onto a bus XD.

Most ports available nowdays are usually pretty well done or if they are a bit dodgy its easy to find out that information via reviews so I dont mind if a game used to be only available on one format and then gets released elsewhere (I actually prefer it because then more people can play it! Exclusive releases arnt overly accessable after all XD).

I definitely prefer having a PC version. Big screen is a big win for me. I remember borrowing a friend's vita several years ago to play Code Realize. It was an uncomfortable experience having to read for hours on it. I was surprised how small the screen was because I was not familiar with console devices. In the end I waited for a few more years and played it on emulator.
Another factor is I like Japanese games but my language is not good enough yet, so the readily available translation tools is another win for PC.

it's my main platform, i just wish more otome games got ported to PC. tried the Bustafellows PC port and it's genuinely the worst thing ever, wish they did it better

There are a lot of Otome games that is only exclusive to consoles which can be inaccessible to a lot of people, so I'm actually gonna be happy if a lot or all of them get a pc port lol.

I prefer PC. I know consoles are comfortable for many people, but I cannot find a comfortable position to hold it while playing. If I try lying down to play, it feels awkward. The pc screen is more "HD" too, I like the bigger graphics

Yes, probably because we'll get none of the much older PSP and Vita games either way, so any kind of port to PC would be great news to me. I just hope they will add extra content or side stories to the base game, otherwise I don't feel like re-buying it again for no reason if I owned the original game.

Personally, it's much more convenient for me to play on a PC, so I'm always happy when games are ported:giggle:
Yoo same. I don't really buy consoles that much anymore so I love and really appreciate it when the games come out on PC. PC is just easier for me to play and use especially since things usually end up having a PC release as well. However, I have been maybe considering the switch as a lot of visual novels having been releasing exclusively to that console.

Echoing mostly everyone else here but I like when they're ported to PC as long as they're optimized well. I wish I enjoyed playing on the Switch more but I have a bad habit of getting too comfy and then falling asleep... There's still a chance I fall asleep when I'm on my PC but at least it's much smaller.

I don't see why that's a bad thing as long as the port is well made. The more people that can have good experiences in this medium, the better.
