Sometimes I have fun just thinking about writing a VN myself.. I think one day I'll, just for trying something new and to practice creative writing mixing my love for video games books and drama.

Do you ever have an idea to write one? If yes, what was the story?
Which are your VN/Otome of inspiration? And why?
If you never thought about it, if you will have to do one? What will be the story?

I'm curios!

sometimes i randomly think of cute shoujo manga ideas.. or they literally come to me in a dream LMAO. never thought about otome before though! but i guess i could possibly adapt my two ocs' backgrounds into a vn.. though im afraid it wouldnt be otome, since id want to give both of them their own perspective, and one of them is a boy, so..!! god im talking like i have some huge ass lore for my ocs but no, its just like, a couple of lines LOLOL
maybe an otome spinoff would be cute.. but then again, is it really otome if both characters are someones established ocs? probably not ww

if anything, i feel like it would be easier for me to think up a new galge or yuri.. since most otome satisfy my needs perfectly, which i cannot say about galge for example ww. and also because i love anime girls slightly more than boys.. im sorry, my otome sisters......;;

but honestly, its a very cute and fun activity i feel like!! im definitely gonna think this through some more x3

Omg the ideas coming to you in a dream is so real, i swear half of my ideas and made up universes are from 3am fever dreams 😭

I'm writing a script.It's still a bit too difficult for me to finish it.Art and music are just areas where I don't have any skills in making anything.But if possible, I still want to make it happen.Sticking with it and learning are just too hard for me. Life is full of so many little things, and creating art is really not easy at all.

yessss its so fun to wake up and immediately start writing down all you can remember and then look back at it and think "damn.. am i a genius or what?" ww

I wish to have something like 35h in a day just for learning new skills such music and art and write more, practice more dancing, singing, acting.. Well also for a lot of other activities and WORK.

I feel so bad these days to give 40h a week to a job I don't like just for living. I feel that I'm wasting my time. I would like to live just with arts and travel. (with fantasy and physically around the world).

I had a project, it wasn't very ambitious. All that I can say - humanity didn't lose anything that worth too much, lol.

i've thought about writing one! but honestly, its harder to do than it looks and its something i genuinely wish to do maybe when i'm a bit more older and perhaps wiser

thought about it before! especially after reading something that resonates with me, i get this feeling like "wouldn't be amazing to be able to create a work that connects with people like this?" not even strictly speaking of lengthy, elaborate, super polished titles either - in fact i get even more impressed when it's a passion project/something not done by a huge company. but once you start making a rough outline of the work needed to get done... yeah... lol. nevermind the fact i'm very much a beginner at writing and drawing. but it wouldn't be otome, idk if i can write guys that would truly charm people and that's essential >< also they need to be beautifullllll i'd stress so much over their designs

even with all that said, i'm not trying to discourage anyone! i believe there's merit in trying no matter your age or skill level. even if you don't publish a vn, looking into coding/writing/making art can only be beneficial, right? you're learning new things in the process...!!
 
Well, you split the money at the end. Fare. But you have to find someone that believes in your idea and want to contribute maybe only for sharing a passion for something together.
Like... well, people also reunite for playing d&d, and it takes a lot of time and preparation and nobody pays nobody. Clearly, you don't have to think the AAA otome game ahaha, more like a side project, for fun.

I've thought about it. (⑉• ﻌ •⑉) I'm just terribly bad at time management and a bit of a perfectionist so I'm in the boat of if I can't do it perfectly, I don't want to do it (I know it's awful, I know just doing it will benefit myself in the long run. ᵉʰᵉʰᵉ(*/∇＼⭒))

And I actually disagree with the art issue! I think a great story will outweigh any art issues or lack of "talent" artistically. Art is definitely important to some players, of course, and it will help draw people in due to first glance, but story is what people talk about more often than not. ✧٩(•́⌄•́๑)و ✧

Ive thought about it and tried doing it!! But my adhd allows me to have a project to work on for like three days and then my brain gets tired + i am so bad at coding that i cant even use renpy (´；ω；`) but i do plan on making some visual novels AND releasing them!!!
 
I've actually made a small VN with some OCs of mine lmao! Not specifically otoge as I have fem and male MCs (so it has BL, yuri and otoge routes! It's a self-indulgent project lol) but I'm not brave enough to publicly share it ;b

I did it more as a cool coding/drawing project, and also as a way to explore some of my favorite tropes in those genres. Funnily enough the settings that inspired me were darker galge games (I'm Nitroplus shill lol) and my desire to draw more gore (and male ryona...), so not a very otome-friendly setting, haha! It's a fun thing to do when you want to analyze what draws you to the genre! Writing a fem MC and centering her wants it's pretty fun, and it's one of my favorite things about otoge :)

I did using random stuff to get a hand of it.
None of the assets belong to me though so its not for sharing with others.
It's not that hard. As long as you've the will to make one
(and you're not aiming for AAA quality).
 
I've definitely had delusions of grandeur about making a "big thing" and visual novels have definitely been part of those delusions, though my projects were more self-indulgent derivative edgy BL stuff than otome stuff.

Still, toying around with stuff like Renpy is fun!

You know, I actually have tried! But I have never completed anything lol, I don't know but i liked writing stories as a teenager a lot, I have a bunch of unfinished stories written in paper around my house. I tried it with RPG Maker xp at the time, uploaded ideas to DeviantART, even tried Renpy but I never finished a single one haha going back to those times, I cringe really hard reading my stories since English wasn't my first language, at the time I swore my english was great... it wasn't. I want to forget everything I ever uploaded to DeaviantArt :ROFLMAO:
