Hey everyone! 💕

I was listening to an R18 drama CD the other night and realized I have to be lying down in a pitch-black room with my eyes closed to actually get fully immersed in the binaural audio. If my eyes are open or the lights are on, my brain just stays too distracted!

It got me wondering how everyone else listens to their audio:
  • Are you Team Immersion? (Pitch-black room, eyes closed, 100% focused on the audio in bed)
  • Are you Team Multitasker? (Listening while playing games, working, cleaning, or scrolling on your phone)

Just relaxing and lying down with my eyes open. If I close them, I might fall asleep! lol. Sometimes I run into Japanese words I don't know, so I pause to look them up in the dictionary. Then I continue once I find the meaning.

I can't multitask, I need to focus on the R18 scenes, I mean on the plot!

My usual routine is to browse through the text content of a CD first, so I have a rough sense of the story. After that, I listen to the CD while reading adult-oriented Josei romance manga or fanfiction.

Haha, exactly—I can't multitask while listening to R-18 scenes either. 😂 The only difference is that I have to lie down with my eyes closed to really visualize and picture what's happening in otome audio.

I'm just like you in that I read the drama CD's synopsis beforehand, but unlike you, I prefer to lie down with my eyes closed while listening. I've tried listening while doing chores or reading manga, but multitasking like that means I don't end up remembering any of the content 🥲.

I'm definitely more of a multitasker! I usually play simple puzzle games, like nonograms, while listening, or sometimes I browse the internet. Just sitting there and doing nothing but listening feels a little boring to me😅.

But I do listen to them in bed sometimes before going to sleep. When I do, I just lie down and listen to the CD without doing anything else. So I guess I'm Team Multitasker most of the time, but I do have my Team Immersion moments before bed.

It's actually quite reasonable to listen to drama CDs while playing simple games. I don't know about you, but I have mild ADHD symptoms, so I often train myself to avoid getting distracted by focusing on just one task—and thinking only about that task—at a time 😁.

Oh, I see! That makes sense. I actually sometimes get so focused on the puzzle that I miss something in the audio and have to rewind it😂. I really admire that you're making an effort to train yourself to stay focused like that!
