I'm trying to download something from a torrent site, their tracker banned the torrent clients that I use. I found something about using CheatEngine to change the torrent string, however, that didn't work for my version. Is there a torrent client that can fake other clients' ID? Thanks.

Yes, but it'd be easier to use an approved client. Clients are usually banned for a good reason (usually because they send wrong data or allow cheating) and circumventing that ban is going to get you banned when caught.

If you know of a good client please share. I was actually able to find the files I need elsewhere, but it's still good to know for future reference. As for banning, I understand the risk.

I don't trust uTorrent because it phones home (sends data back to uTorrent). I've been using BitSpirit for the longest time, and it seems fine. I also use Shareaza from time to time. If I find a good client with ID spoofing capability I will share.

Use µTorrent 2.2.1. It's a clean version without advertisements, phoning home, or any major known issues (there's a bug causing it to always pre-allocate files selected for download as soon as the first bit is written, no matter what you select). It's also the version that's allowed on pretty much every tracker around.
