CD-ROM vs DVD-ROM

For some eroge, I might find a download for a CD-ROM version and another for a DVD-ROM version. I noticed the DVD-ROM is usually much bigger in size (sometimes several gigabytes). Does this difference in size mean anything in regards to the contents of the disks? If not, should people pirating eroge usually go with the CD-ROM?

Some old games Re-Release Dvd because add Voice.
Some Re-Release just to sell again , game just Unpacked on Dvd (for more quick install and Run From Dvd) not Always)
Some most of the time, add Music - Image - Voice Append, and game just Unpacked on Dvd.
