This is directed to

@blackflag

You sent me a DM about my thread (which is now deleted). I can't reply to you because it's being marked as spam. I mentioned this in my initial thread. That thread I made that I COULD respond on is now deleted. What is happening here?

Anyway, this was my reply to the DM:

"Hi, yes I can see it. However that is not the thread I was referring to. Are there two rules threads? What is the difference between the two?

https://www.anime-sharing.com/threads/otome-section-megathread-index-rules-more.1872512/ This one I can't see. Maybe I'm confused and this is something else entirely?"

Hello,

If you use a VPN, and your VPN was used to spam and got blacklisted on spam database such as spamhaus, you are also blacklisted here.

Best course of action is to use a different, clean VPN, or disable VPN when posting anything.

Please let me know if I miss anything else because I don't fully understand your question.

I am not using a VPN. Why would I be able to make threads and comments but not be able to send messages if not for something site-related?

My main concern was not being able to see the rules thread, and not being able to contact mods with my questions because I can't see said rules thread. I'll ask them here instead:

1) Can I upload games without having special privileges? If yes, can I upload them publicly so anyone can download them? Since it seems the special rules only apply to the Otome section.
2) Will my threads with game uploads be deleted if the mod group (the crowdfunding one) posts the same games later?

When you refer to "special rules," are you indicating that access to the Otome Game section is restricted to those who have registered for an account and fulfilled certain minimal criteria?

These "special rules" pertain exclusively to Otome Games only and do not apply to the entire Otome section (not applicable to Otome Doujin/Voices). Most members already have access to the Otome Game section, with only a few exceptions for newcomers who require time to meet the necessary requirements to view Otome Games.
2) Will my threads with game uploads be deleted if the mod group (the crowdfunding one) posts the same games later?

The crowdfunding group operates independently from ASF. Your upload will remain, even if the crowdfunding group share the same games at a later date. If you encounter any issues, please report them to the admin.

The rules thread are in Otome Corner. Which rules thread you cannot view?

Due to the prevalence of scammers and spammers exploiting direct messages (DMs) in the past and we do not scan your DM content. We employ alternative profiling methods to combat spam.

Thanks for answering, that cleared some things up for me!

The rules thread are in Otome Corner. Which rules thread you cannot view?

This is the rules thread I was referring to: https://www.anime-sharing.com/threads/otome-section-megathread-index-rules-more.1872512/ But I will take a look at the one you mentioned. blackflag also mentioned it so it seems like I was looking at something completely different.

Yeah the ones that let you see certain sections. I don't have that ability yet (which is fine), but I noticed that filled requests/uploads get moved to a section that only those members can see. I wanted to know if I can make my uploads public to everyone.

You should be able to access it without any issues. Please let me know which specific rule post you are unable to view

I noticed that filled requests/uploads get moved to a section that only those members can see
Filled Request are moved to... Filled Requests

You should still have access to everything posted under "Filled Requests." If the uploader hasn't created a thread in the Otome Game forum, you'll even be able to see the links to those uploads if Uploader just post those directly under the Request thread.

I wanted to know if I can make my uploads public to everyone.

Regarding the possibility of making your uploads public, that option is unfortunately not available at this time. I'm uncertain if it would even be beneficial. The restrictions are relatively light and are not intended to block access to content.

However I'm not shooting your idea down though, feel free to make a Suggestion to allow Thread Starter to choose to open up their thread to Registered Member.

A Content Gating System is expected to be implemented in the upcoming upgrade, but it will ultimately be up to the uploader to decide whether to utilize it.

The new upgrade will also feature an all new Anti Link-Scraping wrapper.

I'm getting this error: "Oops! We ran into some problems. You do not have permission to view this page or perform this action."

I'll go make a suggestion then. I'm not sure how allowing public uploads on a site specifically made to share games would be anything BUT beneficial, especially when the other sub-forums allow it. I'm new though, so maybe I'm just missing context.

Thanks again for answering my questions. Another mod just deleted my other thread and sent me DMs that I already said I couldn't reply to, so honestly I felt like my questions were being brushed aside. This thread can be closed now if you want :)

edit: Sorry, missed the part about Filled Requests. I misunderstood, I think I was trying to click on a link from a Filled Request thread, and that link wasn't viewable to me, so I assumed the whole section was part of the special access thing. My bad
