Question can't open threads

hello,
i'm not very active here but i check for some games from time to time.
today though i cant open any threads in the Otome Games, Artbooks & CDs section. i don't know if this means i did something and was blocked from that area or if there is an issue with the site? i didn't get any emails and all my alerts here are gone

And no, that's not what I'm saying, but I do think the wording used regarding lurkers and their ability to qualify is somewhat unclear and gives off the impression that those in a similar position to my account will never be able to regain access. I can understand why fresh accounts might be regarded more suspiciously, but older accounts seem to be grouped in with these newer ones in the policy. I'm not saying this to try and pick a fight, but I think rewording the FAQ slightly might be more helpful to prevent further confusion.

Every day, scrapers invade our site, copy our resources, re-uploading them elsewhere, and charging membership fees for access. Our Uploaders and Contributors have long expressed concerns that we are too lenient in our approach. I find it amusing when someone, not directly involved as an Uploader, claims, "nobody will upload here anymore". No matter what, the core principles of Anime-Sharing community will not change: a free library of resources for everyone.

It's important to remember that we never compel anyone to join us. Everyone is free to leave if they believe we are too strict. Not having access to a particular section today doesn't mean you can't work towards gaining that access in the future. (Though, not by counting to one million for certain )

As a community built on the foundation of sharing, we do not charge for access to exclusive resources, and many requests also get fulfilled at no cost to you.

Is it unreasonable to ask that you contribute your knowledge back to the community? Your time is valuable, I understand that, but can't you find the capacity to share your insights just once every few weeks? Helping out fellow community member? Do you see us as a community, or are we just your free library that you can plunder to scam people?

You do need to stop making up numbers. I never specify any numbers. To begin with, where did you get that number 200 posts from? If it's coming from me saying to attain a certain rank, then surely for the rank. I never say to access Otome Group, requires 200 posts.



Not really no, I cannot disclose the true reason, but if you're like 1-2-3 lurker, then yes. Everyone else who had a genuine interest in this community will have a fair chance.

Let me put it this way: while the Trusted and Elite member rank is an assured way to have access, it's not the only condition.

That said, I think I didn't stress this enough: if you do not have access now, wait for a few more days?

Did I make that clear enough? Hell I never even say the cutoff date but if you have an account before you read this message, you're pretty much well ahead.

I understand everyone frustration but it's not that as bad as it looks.

Edit: Let me put in a small FAQ:

1. Do you need the badge Trusted/Elite Member?
A. While having the badge is an assurance to get access, it's not the only condition.

2. What do I do to get access?
A. Do nothing, Wait. Don't Spam. Or just enjoy some doujinshi, some voice drama. You are free to complain here, I do read everyone's complaint, it is encouraging.

3. I'm shy, I'm introverted, I'm a lurker, are you punishing me for being one?
A. No, while we cannot disclose the true reason behind. Also if you really don't have anything other than a profile, then sadly you are unlikely to qualify.

4. I'm belong to the number 3. and I absolutely didn't do anything, what do I do to get access?
A. You probably belong to the group we want to get rid of by accident. Either way, there's nothing you can do but to wait until everyone else get vetted.

5. I heard from someone else that I need X amount of posts to have access.
A. You need X amount of post to attain a rank, but those X amount of post doesn't mean you go in forum game and get that number, it would punish you instead.
It also had nothing to do with having access to Otome Game, read Question 1.

6. I see that I'm "New Member", am I qualified?
A. Most likely, if you are within registration date cut-off and as long as you're not agent zero (0).

Considering I have about 30 posts to my name after 13 years of lurking at the time of this post (though granted, they were like co-pay for games and technical issue discussion posts) the lurker acceptance bar isn't very high imo. It seems pretty lenient.

Maybe otome section could have a monthly thread about who's your favourite mans of the past month so shy people can find a topic to say something in, idk.

Admin said translation is fine, using AI to write for you is not. I'm guessing this means, don't tell AI to "write this in English for me", but using stuff like wechat translate or google translate to get your Chinese into English is fine.

At first, there weren't many threads I was interested in, so I created my own thread in the Otome Corner and shared my thoughts there. After that, I was granted access, and I felt it was actually quite simple. As for the language barrier, I usually write down my thoughts first (in my native language), then ask ChatGPT to translate them. After that, I read through it again and edit anything that sounds awkward. I hope this helps you XD

Use of a datacenter, or VPN IP is an indicator, but as long as you're not a scraping bot, you have nothing to worry about. I gurantee you that.
