Canon MC name vs Self-Insert?

I prefer using the Canon name

I usually go with the canon name when there's one, unless it's one that I don't particularly like. Otherwise, I just make up a name that would make sense with the setting - using my name/nickname feels a bit out of place and ruins the immersion for me.

I use canon MC's name when it is voiced (I like hearing the LIs say MC's name), but otherwise, if the name isn't voiced, I self insert
