Like its always "Add malemc in *otome game* plss" and now the table turns into "This *bl game* need femalemc!" Like this shit is tiring as fuck that's why I didn't participate/talk in otometwt.

Honestly I blame normies who invades weeb's save spaces (ESPECIALLY stantwt) for this, maybe if the normies didn't find gacha games this kind of this stupid drama wouldn't happen.

I don't get what you're getting at with the nucani part but you don't have to diss Fluffy Cotton World ~Little Princess Games~. Yeah, the ending where the heroine is chained to a candy radiator is polarizing. I get why a lot of players expected some amputation action on top of that, but it's too much for a CERO D game for Switch. Many people are theorizing that they'll squeeze in some more hints of guro for the fandisk so everyone can be happy

If what I've heard about Evan is true it's a daring story approach to have in an otome but I do like when girls with emotional masochism are pandered to so I'm also interested... I was simply saying that if I asked Quincy if he was gay or bi he'd go "Huh" and go back to sleep. That's just an opinion, though, not canon. I didn't mean to imply that discussing that was irrelevant, sorry! Just that it didn't matter narratively when the game focuses on his attraction to Eiden. I just think arguing with intentionally provocative/homophobic posters or a hypothetical someone who's actually shipping themselves with him is kinda pointless. He's not going to stop fucking Eiden.

I'm not trying to play the forum police, I just tried to ask a fellow BL fan if it's really appropriate to reduce otome to housewife sims when nobody in this thread so far has mocked BL games, even ones who weren't as civil. It'd be better if there was some genuine discussion! But I'll agree I've contributed to this discourse thread more than I intended... I was just attempting to lighten up the mood! It deeply baffled me how some people will reduce women into a stereotype just because they like playing dating game. Otome is a niche genre and women as protagonist should not be erased :(

I feel like this same drama of people wanting male MCs in otome games comes around every few months. There is a reason there are labels "BL" "GL" and "Otome", not everyone is 雑食 (which is the term I saw on JP twt used to describe people who enjoy multiple genres like Otome and BL).
Im guessing the incident OP is talking abt is LADS (?) since it seems like that is the main game people are demanding to have a male MC. Do people not understand there needs to be a lot of money and resources poured into making a male MC, and they would need to construct new dialogue for him too. It's kinda entitled to just demand a company with a request this big and you aren't even the target demographic!! There are plenty of (high quality) BL games on the market available.
As an otomege player, there are plenty of BL games with dark themes that make me quite envious. But I don't go around demanding BL games to add female MCs, because I know I am not the target demographic and that's fine. That's why I stick with supporting Otome game developers.

Eh, I never cares as these 2 are completely different genres along with people who understand and knowing what they want to consume the products. Every time someone from otometwt appears on my tl i avoid interacting with them so i can stop seeing them, I wouldn't have such a bad image of them if only their drama were interesting but they are always about the same topics and they're always going in circles or they take the comment of one(1) person and blow it out of proportion, so boring

personally both fight very often and over stupid things, if i had to pick which was worse i think BL twitter because of how disgusting the comments can be, but otome twitter is just rude when it comes to small stuff. there was drama over using a translator and i found it ridiculous, if you don't have the time to learn japanese (esp cus its a hard language) thats fine i dont see the issue?

As someone who's into both BL and otomes, I say none of this would have happened if everyone just stayed in their lane of whichever they prefer. Everyone's time would be better off supporting their BL/otomes so more games/content would come out. I myself have been trying to really ignore dramas and spend my time playing games or reading fanfictions instead. It's better for your mental health too.
