Bad ending or good ending, which one do you prefer?

Honestly, I like more bad endings than good ones. Obviously a happy ending is always well appreciated but I enjoy seeing one ot the LIs completely destroyed because the death of the heroines or lost in craziness, or crying 👀✨️.

For me, bad endings tend to be "cooler" because they're usually different, since the expectation for good endings is always the characters living happily ever after. Like, you kind of know what's coming for a good ending! So, bad endings are usually more surprising.

I don't like bad endings, and I really don't like the trend in media (not in otome in particular, an overall trend in eastern and western media imo) in the last decades to give sad/bad endings because it's more ~realistic~ and ~mature~. It just feels like a bad writer's way out, when they write themselves into a corner and they can't think of a good way to give a happy ending to their characters/a satisfying/cathartic way to finish their story.

(This is just my opinion, everyone should write and read whatever endings they enjoy (y)).

Depends on the story.
I love good endings but if it's a depressing game then a bad ending seems more plausible than a good one.

I want to say its obviously good endings, but something about tragedy endings, especially if they're well-written, really tugs at my heart... I'm looking at you Piofiore

I'm a huge fan of angst, so bad endings are always welcomed!! But I also want the characters to be happy after so much suffering 😭, so I usually leave the good endings for the end of the route

I like happy endings, but I like bad endings too. Whether I end up liking a bad ending depends a lot on how it's written and what kind of bad ending it is. If it's done well, there are actually many times when I end up liking the bad ending more.

I like the open ending. Although the ending was tragic, the post-credits scene hinted that they didn't die, and that their feelings for each other were genuine.

I like happy endings. Bad endings just make me feel down. But I like stories where it's clear from the beginning that they are heading toward a bad ending, and the process is carefully depicted.

I like good endings. As for bad endings, I actually like them too, but it depends on the writer's approach to conveying/writing the story from the beginning to the bad end

Yes, I have. Sometimes the bad ending is more interesting because it can be more dramatic, bittersweet, or thought-provoking than the good one.

Honestly, I care way more about the plot making sense than whether it's a GE or a BE.😆 If I'm heavily invested in a character, I can totally accept a tragic ending—even if it breaks my heart—as long as it fits their core personality. The worst is when a story forces a happy ending by completely nerfing the characters' brain cells. That kind of forced 'feel-good' vibe ruins what could've been a masterpiece. Look at some classics: the characters might have sad endings, but it elevates their entire arc perfectly. That's real respect for the character.

I'd say happy endings, but some bad endings have seemed better to me than happy ones. Either because the happy endings were bad endings or they simply didn't fit the type of game.

Since I've grown to enjoy heavier and more emotionally intense stories, there are times when I find the bad ending more compelling than the good one.
A tragic ending that feels inevitable and true to the characters can leave a much deeper impression on me than a happy ending where everything works out perfectly. As long as it's well written and not tragic just for shock value, I can end up loving the bad ending even more.

I can accept either outcome, or rather, I hope the content is memorable rather than having a good or bad ending. What worries me most right now is AI-generated scripts; I don't really like AI-generated scripts.
