, so I usually leave the good endings for the end of the route
If I'm heavily invested in a character, I can totally accept a tragic ending—even if it breaks my heart—as long as it fits their core personality. The worst is when a story forces a happy ending by completely nerfing the characters' brain cells. That kind of forced 'feel-good' vibe ruins what could've been a masterpiece. Look at some classics: the characters might have sad endings, but it elevates their entire arc perfectly. That's real respect for the character.
