Are you a completionist?

Yes, but sometimes I fail to complete games which have too much content.

I prefer to stay away from that game for a few months or years when you get burned out for getting all the stuffs. If you are a completionist, you might know someday you'll ger back to it and complete it. Having a break doesn't mean that you're failing but it's just a detour on your way to the completion.

I hope you can achieve what you want!

I'm curious whether you guys make it a point to unlock all the endings, see every choice, unlock all the CGs, etc. There are some games where I don't play all the routes because I get burned out, so I hop between games frequently T_T
Honestly your style is probably the best way to play! Trudging through a game when you're not really feeling it means you'd associate it with feelings other than fun TT Although I'm the type to want to complete at least all the ends, I think it's only worthwhile when you're enjoying it~ There's only so much time in the day and the game also won't be going anywhere~ I've finally learned to jump between games now too haha.

im a completionist but i learned that it could lead to burnout, i rlly like learning about all the characters equally so i unlock everything :3 i dont when im not vibing with the game / characters or just dont wanna see some endings why force yourself at the end of the day u play for ur own enjoyment

i would say yes, not necessarily all dialogues but definitely all CGs. I tend to go through all the routes even if Im not really interested in the specific LI (this applies for both otome and BL). Also in terms of bad endings, I personally actually kinda enjoy reading through the bad endings ahaha :D, i would choose to collect all the bad endings of a route if I can before going down the good ending route, its like seeing all the 'what if's and improving until you end with the good end and leave it there.
That being said though, I do have a problem with leaving games half finished sometimes...like i have yet to finish lamento and am not even half way through a route for si nis kanto and taisho x alice... one day I'll go back to them surely (surely

Yep, I usually don't move on to the next game until I'm sure I've seen all the endings, chosen all the options, unlocked all the CGs, short stories, etc. I'm really curious and want to see what they have to offer. I feel like that way I can experience the game the way it was intended to be played.

I want to be a completionist, but I do feel the burn out too. That's why even when I beat a RPG game, I don't even try New Game+. As much as I love the game it would have to be years later that I will replay it. I haven't really gotten through an otome game, but I know what you mean about playing the game again but going with another character.

im not a completionist to the point of needing to see every choice and dialouge change but i do like to get everything that is like recorded in the game. all the cgs, all the routes, all the endings if they are listed. like 9 rip didnt log the mini bad endings in the gallery log thing so didnt look at all of those. so anything in the gallery extras is fair game for me but if it aint there then i dont bother with it

I agree with others and there's no way I'd call myself a completionist. I'd have to be extemely hooked on on something, otherwise I just finish whatever I find enjoyable (like a couple of routes of characters that caught my eyes) and that's pretty much it. See no reason to finish the rest.

You're definitely not alone! I used to feel guilty about not completing everything, but now I just play for fun.

If a route gets boring or if I've already finished my favorite character's route, I have zero hesitation moving on to another game! Gaming is supposed to be a relaxing hobby, so playing however you want without FOMO is the way to go. 😄👍

I think I have OCD. I feel like I have to collect all the CGs. Even if it's a route I don't like, I'll force myself to play through it just to get every CG. Sometimes this makes me unable to stand myself, but if I don't collect them all, I feel uneasy inside. 😂

I am a perfectionist with obsessive-compulsive disorder. I pursue perfection no matter what I play games or do. And if it's not perfect, I will feel very uncomfortable. Not to mention the game, I basically finish all the endings and CG, and keep the game save files.
:ROFLMAO:

Most of the time I am, but if I run into a character or story I really dislike, I quit right away. Full completion takes way too much time. With some games, going for 100% feels like I'm torturing myself ∑(✘Д✘๑)

If I like the protagonist, I play through every single route and ending for all the characters. If I don't like the protagonist, I only get all the endings for whichever love interest I like. And if there isn't a single character I like, I'll drop the game before even finishing the ending and go look for a new one.

Basically, I try to complete games. I'm interested in seeing the reactions and information for every choice. I often start with some less interesting routes first, and then move on to the ones that really catch my attention. But anyway, I'm taking my time with them.

Yes and no—let me explain better: I like to unlock all the CG scenes and complete all the routes; if there are songs, memories, or special endings, I unlock those too. The same goes if there's a progress bar—for example, if 50% of the game has been completed— but if it's not mandatory to go through a bad ending—in short, if that bad ending doesn't have a CG and isn't necessary to reach 100% or whatever the game requires—then for me, that experience can be skipped (of course, if the love interest is a jerk, then every bad ending is fair game), if the route is female-focused or boring, then I skip it just to get the CG; if there are options among them that can be skipped because they don't achieve anything other than extra dialogue, then I don't select them either—unless it's an interesting response or to create drama. So, for the most part, I complete it, but only if the game requires it; otherwise, depending on the situation, it can be skipped.

It depends if I like all LIs. If i dont like one li then i wont complete his route i couldnt care. But if I like most Lis and like the plot I would definitely 100% the game. Additionally, I come back every now and then to unlock all endings of otomes ive played if Im feelinfglazy to start a new otome.

Never completed an otome in my whole life, i only play the characters that i get attached to and i can never choose options that would make them have a sad ending
I just want to be happy with the LI that i like
