Any thoughts on a yandere otome MC

i don't mind this. i'd like to imagine this. MC is actually a psycho that mad in love with LI (who's unhinged) and intentionally set up LI to imprisoned MC, but in the end she set up like giving some sleep medicine inside the stuff that LI consumed and MC break out from her prison/cage only to reverse the situation by imprisoning LI instead. wait, i unintentionally making this seems like BDSM though lol, but that's the gist of it. naive, meek and obedient MC is irritating me even worse if they can't win/run against red flag LI, that's why i hate if MC is like depend/guide by LI a lot, but if the situation is reverse then bring it on! cmiiw there's manhwa/manga that has trope like this but otome games like this isn't bad too.

I'd be interested in playing it as long as it doesn't get too graphic or describe the gore in too much detail!

Now there's an interesting thought... ;o I NEED it! I've played a few games where you're offered options to be a tad bit unhinged too. It'd be hilarious if the yandere LI pursued MC in unconventional ways only to find out she's just as obsessed, maybe even more LOL

I haven't played an otome game like that, but I'm interested, provided the synopsis seems interesting to me as well. This is a list of such games I found in vndb: link

So far, I don't think I've seen a game like this. There are quite a few on the market where the male protagonist is a yandere type. If there really is a game like this, it would be a relatively fresh type.

If you've never seen a game where the heroine is yandere, I'd definitely like to play one.

I think I'd like to see it in a way that we can choose to go down that route? As in, losing our MC's sanity throughout the game via choices until we really are an unhinged yandere!

I don't mind this. Although there's no guarantee that I will definitively like any MC, I can get potentially get behind any, as long as she's written well as a character and fits her story. I think it could definitely be interesting, especially as it's rare to play as more villainous MCs and I always thought the psychology of yandere characters was interesting so it would be nice to be in the point of view of a yandere protagonist instead of always having the protagonist be on the receiving end only where the direct thoughts and psychology are locked behind other characters that we're not in the point of view of. I just hope it's not something done only for shock value (like the MC randomly becomes yandere out of nowhere or it's something that goes against the rest of the story) and instead that the whole point of that particular story/her character is based around it. So obviously not for all (or even most) MCs, but it can be very interesting when that is the story the writer wants to tell.

HONESTLY CAN'T SAY I HATE IT, cause this was one of the reason i tried to play diabolik lovers 🫣 the bad ending was at its finest.

ik a lot of people have put themselves in the mc and found it maybe rather disgusting by an unhinged mc, for me, it was a plus for a otome

BUTT i only limited it in a bad ending, not its literal plot

i love it when it's shown that the heroine is also just as unhinged as the LI. ceres in yves' despair end comes to mind, and i think in toma's route in amnesia, you find out that the heroine is also a freak 😭 the appeal of yanderes to me is seeing overprotectiveness descend into possession, so i think you could definintely pull it off with the heroine

she's not a yandere but special mention to yurika arisu from taisho x alice. i've never met another otome heroine that's geniunely crazy and unhinged as her when it comes to the boy she loves. we love a crazy queen

yes I'd like to play it if it's not too extreme... but then again it's yandere for a reason... I think this type of mc might fit better in a mystery vn/books like those unreliable narrator protagonists.

I've never liked yanderes as love interests, so i guess I wouldn't stand a yandere MC. Yanderes confuse love with possessiveness, giving the impression that they see the protagonist as a mere object instead of what they are, and when the game ends I'm left wondering if they truly love the protagonist or not.

I've seen Bad Ends where the MC eventually turns yandere or "to the dark side", though never one where she was that from the get-go. TBH I'd love to play a game like that!

I'd like to play something like this! Yandere Mc sounds fun even if it will be bad written, though yeah there is some games with bad yandere endings, but I'd like to see what yandere character (and we see all the time mc thoughts) thinks from the start (^ν^)

I've heard that Shinigami to Shoujo has endings like that...

What draws me to yandere characters is their profound emotions and unwavering devotion to love, which deeply resonates with me. More importantly, while the game portrays these traits, I should also consider the characters' mental health and real-life issues to better understand and reflect on their behavior.

I love it when Mcs are problematic too so I welcome the yandere ones its nice break from usual Mc

i have not seen a game that has a yandere MC where she is always like this, but I have seen some where she is a yandere in the bad endings.

Like Nameless for example has a lot of yanderes, even the protagonist! But they usually get more unhinged if you pick the wrong choices and get the bad endings.

If it's available, I definitely want to play it. Since I like female protagonists with diverse personalities, I'm confident I'll have a lot of fun playing it.

I think otome games with a yandere MC are really unique and fun, but I don't think I'd actually sympathize with her while playing XD. I feel that way because I've played a similar game before. I'm not sure if the MC is actually a yandere or just obsessed with the idea of perfect love. It's not an otome game, but you can choose the MC's pronouns. Here it is Perfect Love if you want to try it, just make sure to read the warnings carefully ^^~
