Have you ever played a game that left a deep impression on you, and at some point, remembered the experience of playing that game again?

(Let me share my experience first.
I watched Hakuoki anime a long time ago.The songs in anime are beautiful, but also sad. Each character has a unique personality, and in the end, I cried for several days because of the ending, feeling very sad in my heart. So much so that I won't watch it again in the future, and I don't even dare to listen to too much of the music inside. Later, I came into contact with otomegame and played it on PSP. I thought to myself that the ending of the game might be slightly better than the ending of the anime. After opening the game, I was still attracted by the character plot depicted in the game. The game plot is great, and I have gained a deeper understanding of the characters. The ending of the game made up for my regrets in the anime, but there are still some characters whose endings are regrettable. But I will always remember the shinsengumi members under the cherry blossom tree!)

Hi, this mostly happens to me with the game Hana Awase. I love everything about it: the story, the characters, the card battles, the atmosphere, the game's style is similar hand-drawn pencil and, of course, the entire soundtrack

First of all, impeccable image choice. Hijikata is looking gorgeous as always. And on that topic, Hakuouki is actually my answer (mostly because I full on started sobbing in front of my sister over the endings). If you're not romancing them, the ROs keep dropping like flies.

My first time playing Hakuouki was on a PSP emulator over a decade ago, and I've replayed the expanded Kyoto Winds and Edo Blossoms editions on Steam. I think what keeps me thinking about it even after all these years is the strong "found family" experience. Even putting aside, how Kodo is actually Chizuru's adoptive father, there's a clear emphasis on the Shinsengumi's loyalty and love for each other regardless of not having blood ties. Souji seems to see Kondo as something of a father figure too. How close they are really drives in the tragedy of their separation and death. Even the best endings can only be bittersweet

Hug you! I have also played Hakuoki before, just like you. Every time I listen to the music of the game, I feel very sad. I still cry when I play it again. Shinsengumi's samurai spirit, loyalty, and love have left a deep impression on me, and the final game ending is also sad and regretful.˃̣̣̥᷄⌓˂̣̣̥᷅

For me, it would probably be Virche. Yomi's art is the biggest plus for me, besides that, the despair theme is very good (although I don't quite like the salvation-themed ending) and the music is also very captivating, especially the ending song (Yves - I miss you so much).

I'd like to recommend another visual novel: Virche Evermore: -ErroR:salvation- But be prepared for the fact that to get to the good endings, you'll first have to play through the bad ones. Even the good ones will be bittersweet (not all of them). But believe me, the playthrough is worth it, as is the fan disc, which will answer many questions and give the characters a well-deserved ending. I liked this game for its atmosphere, plot, and uniqueness, unlike classic otome novels. If you are interested in the game and decide to play it, I would be happy to read your impressions of the game <3

It looks impressive and nostalgic. I've heard from friends that this game is heavy and sad. The game has truth and profundity. Thank you for sharing your feelings

In one of the other threads I wrote that this game really touched me, but I still wouldn't recommend playing it if you're going through some kind of life difficulties or are depressed. In that case, I'd recommend reading something lighter and more romantic. For example, there's no usual route system here, instead there are 4 separate love stories with their own love interest works at a flower shop. I got a lot of positive emotions while playing the game and smiled a lot!

I'm also a big fan of this wonderful otome game: Piofiore: Fated Memories. Everything is just as wonderful in it: the atmosphere of the 20th Century, beautiful visual style from the artist: RiRi and of course the hot Italian boys from the Burlone Mafia :megane_present:

I was deeply impressed with Nameless - The One Thing You Must Recall! It's a Korean otoge by the developers of Mystic Messenger.

A long time ago I had an obsession with BJDs. I was just starting to read VNs in English back then. Suddenly, I stumbled upon Nameless. I literally fell in love with this game on first glance, because the art was really nice, and the plot about the dolls suddenly becoming alive felt like the perfect kind of story to me. I gave it a chance, and it was soooo good. Although the game turned out to be way darker than I expected, it served as a pleasant surprise. It made me want to try reading different otome games, and here I am now lol.

Me too! Sorry I didn't reply yesterday, I've been busy. Unfortunately, classic otome series not r18 not always a lot emotional scenes, romantic or hot content, but from those that I liked and remembered: Sympathy Kiss, Lover Pretend, Olympia Soiree. Games with an unusual narrative system and route system: Even If Tempest and Neon Clash Echoes of the Lost. And of course there is very beautiful and emotional: 9 R.I.P. and Illusion of Itehari. A real find for me: Jack Jeanne, but the rhythm system in the game may not be to everyone's liking
