Does anyone know the solution to gibberish characters after installing the game? (Also during the install). This doesn't seem to be a problem with locale itself (changed on PC). I only have this with Valkyria games, that makes them unplayable.

No idea brother, it does sound a lot like locale tho, or at least having the correct language package installed.
I cannot give you a solution but I'll give you the perspective that for me it runs normally, using jp locale, so your case doesn't sound normal.
