I changed the time/date format to Japanese, and it worked for me.

for win10 enter windows settings, time and language, region, there change region and format from regional to japan

if it doesn't work you may be missing download in, time and language, language, add a preferred language "japanese"

Lose every battle, except for the one leads to game over.
Then you will get the corruption route.

For the EAccessViolation, I'm starting of have a gut feeling that it is due to me still running Win7...
