I cracked this game, I had already done it with the demo, so it was simple. I just opened the .exe with a debugger and put a jmp in place of all the jne that checked if the windows were Japanese. If you want, I'll send it.

I'm pretty sure AlphaRomdie does work, or at least some version of it, because that's what I've been using to open the game.

Well, that was the hard part. I looked for strings, and found "check language", I started debugging from there, little by little until the game gave the error message. I tried to modify places that looked suspicious, until it worked.

If the link to the cracked exe above dies, patch the exe manually with a hex editor of your choice:

Skip region check (also work with the trial version)
SiglusEngine.exe @ 0x2267B7: E8 -> B8

Skip disc check (no need to keep the disc mounted during the 1st run of the game - until the savedata is deleted)
SiglusEngine.exe @ 0x21BEFC: 32 C0 -> B0 01


A function that does region checks references string "This game is Japan only". Go to that function's entry, from there go to the only call of that function and replace that call with directly assigning EAX the value the function would return (0 if checks failed, non-0 if passed). Note that this only skips regional checks and in no way guarantees that the game will actually work in non-Japanese locales (i.e.use locale emulators if you see garbled characters/mojibake); it just won't quit with "Japan only" message.

A function that does the disc check references string ":\dummy" and returns non-0 in AL if the check passed (the dummy file was found in optical disc drive); patch it to return with AL=1 instead.
