There is a typo in the walkthrough: to get to Yui you need to load save 1, and to get to Maomi you need to load save 2 (and have installed the patch).

No, from what I understood, they just said that the flag to capture Maomi will not trigger if you don't have the necessary patch, which is true, but if you have the patch, then you'll need to load save 2 to get Maomi ;)
