[鯨神のティアスティラ ] crack patch

Is the crack patch necessary? Can i simply mount the virtual image and play it like all other galgames or do i need to apply the crack patch (that altered kujira.exe file in the attachment section of the download page)?
Or is it possible to bypass it with another method other than cracking my game? (i dont like playing games with crack patches)
