Hiyama Eisuke, a struggling actor from Osaka, moves to Tokyo to chase stardom but ends up in minor roles, barely scraping by. He possesses a unique but burdensome ability: he can hear the voices of spirits who died untimely deaths, though he can't see or communicate with them. This "gift" leads him to cheap haunted properties, tormenting him with painful voices and forcing him into a cycle of poverty.
After another haunted property ordeal, Hiyama visits "Amami Real Estate" to complain. The president, Amami Goro, aware of Hiyama's ability, offers him a lucrative part-time job: live in a luxury apartment where a woman allegedly committed suicide five years ago. The property has a dark history, with 10 previous tenants becoming mentally unstable and one attempting suicide, earning it a notorious reputation. Lured by the high pay, Hiyama accepts.
That night, he hears the voice of the woman, but her words shock him: "I was murdered!" This revelation throws everything into question, as Hiyama uncovers a truth far darker than he ever imagined.
