Hiyama Eisuke, a struggling actor from Osaka, moves to Tokyo chasing stardom but ends up in minor roles, barely making ends meet. He possesses a unique, troublesome ability-to hear the voices of spirits who died untimely deaths. This "gift" leads him to cheap haunted properties, tormenting him with painful voices and forcing him into a cycle of poverty.
One day, after another haunting experience, Eisuke visits "Amami Real Estate" to complain. The president, Amami Goro, reveals he knows about Eisuke's ability and offers him a lucrative deal: live in a luxury apartment where a woman allegedly committed suicide five years ago. The property has a dark history-10 tenants have moved out, some mentally unstable, and one even attempted suicide. Eisuke is tasked with "laundering" the property's image by proving it's safe to live in. Tempted by the high pay, he accepts.
That night, Eisuke hears the woman's voice, but her words shock him: "I was murdered!"
