Sanpei (Tatsuya Wakaba) suggests that Miyabi's (Hana Sugisaki) memory loss may be cured, and surprisingly reveals that they were engaged. Miyabi is deeply shaken by her sudden confession and wonders whether or not to record her words in her diary. Furthermore, Hoshimae (Yudai Chiba) shows him a two-shot photo of Miyabi and Sanpei that Sanpei had, and he becomes even more confused.
Meanwhile, rumors circulate among the hospital staff that Tsubata (Michiko Kichise) has visited Osako (Arata Iura). She seems to have directly discussed with Tsubata that Miyabi should not be allowed to participate in the surgery. Then, voices of opposition arise among the nurses against Tsubata, who treats the staff harshly on a daily basis as the head of the safety office, and Hoshimae also protests to Todo (Jumpei Yasui) that he is overstepping his authority. However, according to Todo, there is a reason why Tsubata is so insistent on patient safety...
