upgrading

Hiya guys, I just wondering should I upgrade my PSP? My psp is 2000 version, now I'm using CFW 5.50 GEN-D3 Firmware I survived new games by patching it myself... I'm afraid to to lost my screengrab and pops feature if I upgrade... *and afraid to make mistake then bricked my psp... My question...
