tbh I think a lot of it just depends on chance... many of the English-speaking players don't actively keep up with jp releases themselves so an English post about the game has to gain traction on social media
I'd say it factors about 60% in my decision to play it - but like other people said, the story is the deal-maker or breaker... I'll put up with a style I don't really like if the premise hooks me, and I'll drop something if it bores me despite the nice style
I just recently started playing Shingakkou and I can't believe it took me so long to find out it existed 😭 I'm a huge Kuroshitsuji fan so the similar premise is really speaking to me lmao. I'm also playing Lkyt on and off... tbh I keep forgetting that I have it :') looking forward to Yael though
I typically don't have the time to replay anything but I did replay dmmd maybe two or three times - but I did play it for the first time in 2013, so I had years to want to replay lmao. mainly for clear <3
I used to play every single route (even if I hated the character) but nowadays I simply do not have the time to do so </3 I end up playing just a couple...
I cannot stand when they create the most beautiful sweetest cutest boy ever and i'm NOT ALLOWED TO DATE HIM????
I forgive it if he already has a boyfriend but i'm desperate for him to have love in his life </3
personally they've widened A LOT... I think for a lot of characters my youth barricaded me from understanding how truly complex they were? Like I couldn't understand characters who reacted to past trauma in a violent or bitter way... or, in cases, i don't think i even picked up on how past...
I'm also a Kyouichiro (taishou möbiusline) fan since he's very sweet :) but also Aoba will always have my love... he really slayed so hard...
I liked Haru (no thank you) also since he felt like a very different character from the usual archetypes with a strong sense of what he wants
