Not really...I kinda get the hang of the word once it pops up once and after it shows up once in a while, but I think it's helpful when it comes to certain genres like historical ones
2016 since I think Mystic Messenger was my first?? though i'm not too sure either since I only watched Diabolik Lovers around 2013 and i dont even remember anything past that lol..
Yes...i tend to look at the VA cast while looking at the game, and if Matsuoka Yoshitsugu, Furukawa Makoto, or Yashiro Taku is in the lineup, it gets me excited and motivated to play the game haha
route orders bc im pretty bad at guessing which choice goes to which character/ending...and i like to go for recommended route orders to save myself from spoilers
I think Collar x Malice and Code:Realize are good gateways to start with otome games! I also recommend Bustafellows if you like more plot/action and a bit of romance, as well as a voiced MC!
Even if Tempest, Piofiore 1926, Olysoi Catharis, 9Rip Sequel, UN:Logical and Over Requiemz...i'm trying to play the localized games first before the unlocalized ones.
a canon name, MC sprites and a voiced MC are always bonus points for me!! i think having them voiced brings out more of their personality and i wish otomeges would have it more often!
i only self-insert a teeny tiny bit if im obsessed with an LI but i still like naming the MC with their canon names and i think of them as a separate person. i rarely insert though since i like being a reader when it comes to otomeges.
hmm it depends on my mood honestly...i play almost any type of otome vns even if they have some sort of gameplay, but most often i lean more onto the visual novel reading-type format since its more chill...like i truly love jack jeanne but the stat-raising system and rhythm game feels tiring to...
yess!! i do try when i feel like it or when i know the game isnt very advanced kanji heavy! i usually go on and off when it comes to learning even if i watch a lot of jp vtubers on the daily <//3 sometimes i get the gist of what they're saying but i cant read the kanji...
kanji is pretty...
Kureha from 9RIP. i thought i'd be interested in him since i liked his design, but he ended up being my least favorite in the game lol. i think the others had better writing and direction in their routes.
i like to play the bad endings as well, but i prefer the happy endings more!!
i like seeing the what-ifs in bad endings, and seeing the angst & tragedy they go through. but i definitely love happy endings, especially when they become more domestic with each other.
