  1. What do you think about mini-games in otome?

I don't like them because I feel they make me lose time of actually reading the story.
  2. Why are otome games so popular?

They're not popular lmao it's a niche inside of a niche. Unless you're talking about popular Chinese games which have a lot of capital backing them up so success is guaranteed...
  3. Does it bother you that most VNs only give you two options when making choices?

It used to bother me at the beginning but now I understand the logistics of making this all work so I don't fault them now. I appreciate the simplicity for what it is.
  4. .

As closer to reality as possible tbh, I don't know why but fantasy just bores me. Well, making real life scenarios sound appealing is part of the challenge for the writer in a way.
  5. Canon MC name vs Self-Insert?

I always use the predetermined name as I love it when the LIs say it out loud. It's just as exciting to me as if they'd be saying my own name so I don't think this is because I don't self-insert.
  6. Which otome studio do you think is the best?

None, the best stuff nowadays is doujin/indie.
  7. Do you play joke/meme games?

No, I'd better prefer to use my time to read actual stuff that I have in my backlog and a lot of the times joke vns are just a disguise to sell contempt for the medium to the original target audience. Actual parodies would be made with love for the medium by someone who's very knowledgeable...
  8. Do you think Japanese creators should take down games from their dark history period?

There's nothing we can do about this. It's one of the cultural differences Japanese creators have in comparison to the West.
  9. Do you prefer playing 3D otome games or 2D ones?

2D because 3D games still seem like they're stuck in the uncanny valley.
  10. What do you think of female routes in otome games?

I just think that then that's not an otome game anymore. It'd be just a romance game and that's okay. Otome isn't a label that should be pasted on anything even remotely related to romance. Let's not treat it as a buzzword...
  11. Does bad music ruin your immersion in Otome games?

I don't think the music is the issue for me, it'd say it's rather bad sound design or mad mixing (be it for general ambient sounds that loop weirdly or that of the voices where they all seem to be set at different volumes)
  12. Do you use a guide or go in blind when playing otome games?

I find using a guide more time efficient.
  13. Have you ever played a doujin otome game?

I really need to play more doujin games, man...
  14. What do you think about Code: Realize?

I think it's a pretty safe choice to recommend to people who're complete newbies to the genre.
  15. Death of mobile games

Yeah, it's one of the reasons I don't play these kinds of games. If I pay for something I want to know I own it. And I also like the stories I read to have a proper ending, otherwise the overall journey ends up feeling kinda aimless to me.
  16. What's a game that everyone seems to love but you hate?

I actually don't know because I prefer to focus just on what I like and forget about the rest lol
  17. Is it worth it to get a Switch Lite just for Otome games?

Ignore the FOMO, I'd say it's better to be PC only for these games but that's just my opinion as a working adult who has limited time for gaming nowadays. The expense doesn't feel justifiable especially when I already have a normal switch and I don't plan on getting the switch 2.
  18. Do you self-insert while playing otomes?

I see the heroine as a placeholder for the reader.
  19. AI art in otome games

If someone isn't willing to spend time of their life learning the craft necessary to produce the art they want to make, then I'm not willing to spend time of my life looking at it or engaging with it. It's as simple as that.
  20. What you do with the games played?

Hoard them like most people who are into niche stuff that can get disappear from the internet at any moment. It's become an instinct atp.
