  1. what makes you want to play a game?

cute art is what catch my eye first. And, of course, nice character design. I'm also more drawn to a game when the mc have their own sprite, showing their face and voice, and their own name.
  2. Happy vs. Bad Endings, which do you prefer to play first?

I completely understand you, and I share your opinion. I’ve found myself skipping bad endings so I can hold onto the fond memory of the good ending. And I have no regrets.
  3. Do you prefer softer/realistic romances or intense ones?

I prefer sweet love stories. Sometimes intensity leads to toxic behavior, and I’ve already got enough of that in my own life, hahaha. I love soft stories.
  4. What do you think about these ai chat bots?Could they replace otome games?

I’ve never chatted with bots, and I don’t think I’ll ever give it a try. It feels sketchy to me. It’s one thing to enjoy a story with a main character (I’ve never been into self-insertion), but it’s something else entirely to form a relationship with an algorithm... it’s weird, though I respect...
  5. Do you guys actually understand Japanese or still rely on translations when it comes to otome CDs?

Understanding a story lies in its complexity. I think spending so many years in the anime/manga/vn world gives you a certain basic level of japanese understanding. However, if the themes are complex, it is indeed necessary to look for a translation or at least a description.
  6. A character who saves the world and sacrifices themselves, or a character who abandons the world for you alone?

The second option is much more attractive. I choose the person who prefers to choose me over the world.
  7. Do you finish all routes? Or games you have quit in middle

There are few games I’ve played all the way through. There’s always some character who fails to capture my attention, leaving their route unplayed, or perhaps an ending that doesn’t interest me.
  8. Do you self-insert while playing otomes?

I’ve always found it awkward to give the heroine my own name. I can’t manage to self-insert into the story, and I admire people who are capable of that kind of immersion.
  9. Tragic or Happy Ends in Otome—Which Team Are You On?

I prefer happy endings. So much so that sometimes I don't even bother playing the tragic ones. I don't know, I'd rather be left with a good memory, hahaha. Strangely enough, when it comes to BLs, I prefer tragic endings.
  10. What's a red flag you can forgive in a fictional character but would never tolerate in real life?

There are so many... when they're possessive, aggressive, jealous, controlling... basically, the things that make love interests in games interesting are red flags in real life.
  11. what kind of romantic interest designs do you want to see more of?

These are exactly my favorite characters!! I totally agree with you.
  12. Do you finish all routes or only your favorites?

I normally start with just my favorite characters, but if the main plot is really intriguing, I’ll go for the full 100%. For me, it completely depends on the writing. If the side characters are fun, I’ll play everyone, but if a route feels like a drag, I have no problem dropping it to re-play my...
  13. Which LI from DRAMAtical Murder do you like?

I'd have to go with Koujaku! I've always been a sucker for the childhood friends dynamic, and I love how protective and fiercely loyal he is toward Aoba. Their history together adds so much emotional weight to his route, and his character design is just chefkiss.
  14. What's an otome trope you will never get tired of?

I'll always have a soft spot for the childhood friend trope! Like Shin from amnesia, Lupin and Cardia from code realize guardian, Akira and Keisuke from togainu no chi or Aoba and Koujaku from dramatical murder. Having that deep foundation of trust and history before any romance even starts...
  15. What's the longest you've left an otome game unfinished?

Probably around four or five years! Not with a otome but a bl. I got completely stuck on Mink's route in dramatical murder, I never liked the character, neither his personality nor his style, but I had to clear his route to unlock Ren's, so I Ieave it unfished for quite a long time till I felt...
  16. What’s one thing you wish more otome games would do?

I really wish more otome and bl games would give us longer epilogues or a proper 'after story' showing the couple’s daily life. A lot of games build up amazing tension for 20+ hours, only to give you a 5-minute ending scene once they finally get together. I don't wkno, it would be lovely to see...
  17. Happy vs. Bad Endings, which do you prefer to play first?

I was wondering if I'm the only one who goes for all the happy endings first, with the game guide in hand and very sure of the first route I'm going to play... Do you try to go for the happy ending right away, or do you like checking out the bad/tragic endings first? I enjoy seeing how dark or...
  18. What got you interested in otome games?

Tbh it was heart no kuni no alice. I read the manga and fell in love with the darker, twisted take on the classic story and the chaotic dynamic between Alice and the boys. When I found out it was originally a visual novel, I was immediately hooked on the concept of different stories and lots of...
