Does cover art/ thumbnails play a role in your cd choices?

I totally agree! There are just so many works out there that if I don't like the cover art, which is often my first introduction to a work, I might not even check out the story in the first place 😅

Even if I already own it, I tend to keep putting off listening to it, so I'm sure there are some hidden gems out there that I've been missing…!

It's really important to me!! I actually liked everything, but I didn't buy it because I didn't like the cover..
Because the character on the cover is the main protagonist of the story!
I wanted it to look like my style😂😂

Cover art or thumbnails aren't that important, but I tend to avoid ones that are too bad or look AI-generated😖😠

The cover is the first thing that catches my attention before I get interested. I will definitely dismiss some CDs if the art is not my taste. But I don't have high expectation either so as long as it's not too bad and the title, story, and VA catch my attention I will look into it.

For me, the cover art for an audio production is very important. Although people often say, "Don't judge a book by its cover," the cover needs to be compelling enough to provide the motivation to purchase the work, right? 😊

That said, an attractive cover is merely an initial prerequisite; the content, the plot, and the voice acting remain the most crucial factors in keeping me engaged until I've finished the entire piece. 😁

When I'm scannning hundreds or thousands of works on the internet/DLsite, I only consider ones with decent-looking covers. It doesn't even have to be artistically pretty, just not text everywhere, a picture of the VA's character normally with some context clues as to the premise and I'm good. I skip text-only ones for the most part since the ones that have samples often proved underwhelming. Plus those are generally shorter and I usually prefer at least 60 mins of playtime per work. Exception ofc made for a rare premise I really want, I'll go down to 30 mins, but that's rarer the longer I've been buying.
