what's your least favourite type of LI?

Here are the personality types I don't like:

1. Characters who force their own ideas or expectations onto other people,
then act like they're doing it "for their own good." Basically, emotional manipulation disguised as caring.

2. Characters who are way too selfish and childish,
and don't care at all about how much they're putting other people in a difficult or uncomfortable position.

3. Narcissistic / self-absorbed characters who genuinely seem to think everyone is going to like them or worship them. Like... why would I?

4. Characters who become cynical and bitter because of past trauma.
So far, I can still understand where they're coming from.
But if they start taking all that anger and frustration out on people who had absolutely nothing to do with their trauma, that's a major red flag for me.

5. Characters who are overly enthusiastic, with their emotional energy permanently stuck at 100%.
That kind of energy is just way too much for me.
It makes me feel mentally overwhelmed, annoyed, and exhausted.

Probably the extremely stoic type. I can enjoy quiet or reserved characters, but if they're too emotionally distant for most of the game, I tend to lose interest. I need to see a bit more of their personality and emotions!

I don't know what you call them but the Lucifers, Jumins etc. those type of characters drive me up a wall. The overly prideful types. Can't say it's the daddy trope because I don't mind that trope. It's something about the way they belittle the heroine and in some cases can't take no for an answer that gets under my skin in seconds.

i don't like yanderes or playboys! even age gaps where he is much older than you... it makes me uncomfortable. I prefer fluffy stories, so LIs that are tsundere, childhood friends, even just someone caring and kind, are really cute! i really dislike when I see the typical possessive mafia guy.

Cough cough

I'll say right away that if the route is written well, I'll still enjoy reading it. But yeah, there's probably no chance the character will become one of my favorites.

Yanderes. I've already said this in other threads, but I really do hate them in like 80% of cases.
Childhood friends. The only exception I can think of is probably Gekkamaru from Nightshade, whose route I actually really liked. But generally, I'm not a fan of childhood friends who are already in love with the heroine. They tend to feel kind of pathetic to me, especially when you think about how they're still in love with her in all the other routes too, they just never had the courage to confess.
Boring adult men. Tooya Masamune (Norn9), Serigano Manatsu (Ayakashi Gohan), Kuroba (Olympia Soirée). I usually just feel like there's no spark in their routes. They're too calm for me, I guess. I don't even know what the right term for this type of character is, but yeah.

PS: Genki characters and playboy/flirty types could probably also go on this list, but with them it's really 50/50. Sometimes they actually end up being some of my favorite characters.

I don't like the wealthy type that acts arrogantly and superiorly, and the type that expresses affection through harassment

LIs with the childhood friends trope or a "golden-retriever" personality. I always find that the gloomy and stoic LIs are, much, much more my type!! Cheery LIs do not catch my eye, and i find their routes more boring for me.

The age gap LI that fixates on the age gap. Like, I get it, you are a decrepit old monster if you are 10 years older than FL, or a freshly born baby if you are 10 years younger than FL, just shut up with all that "oh, I am so ooooold, I am ancient" and "teehee, nee-sama" shit man.

Also, not a big fan of the "childhood friend that's been in love with you for ages" trope, but mostly because it hits too close to home for me. As someone who personally was on the receiving end of such "love", let me tell you, it sucks balls. In a bad way.

I really don't like flirty and yandere types.....

To be specific, I find it annoying and disgusted when it comes to flirty MLs who hangs and sleeps around girls. This is always the scene in games, mangas, and animes: the MC finds out the flirty ML going out with girls, then the MC somehow despise him or hates him; or stand the high grounds to "advice" the ML not to hurt or play with people's feelings....and then the ML pursues the MC for her being the special one who doesn't fall for him, and then they eventually began dating...

Like..... seriously?? 😒

As for yanderes....... I just find them scary, especially those MLs with very twisted sort of mindsets where they would eventually develop bloodlust or hurt the MC; thus those who yells and screams when they're agitated. Hurtful to my eyes and really make my ears bleed...

I don't like emotionally unstable characters like "Menhera"
As for LI, refers to a patriarchal characters who attempt to control the protagonist or holds anachronistic views.

The overly childish, whiny younger LIs (shota types) or excessively aggressive tsunderes who are just plain rude without any substance. I need emotional maturity, mutual respect, and quiet depth in a dynamic, so characters that constantly yell or act like spoiled kids are an immediate turn-off.

You know LI types - the brother LI, the tsundere LI, the happy-go-lucky LI, the quiet and stoic one...
But which is your least favourite?

Personally, I'm not into the sporty, happy-go-lucky trope at all. Suzu from Jack Jeanne was something of an exception to this, mostly because I liked how his route was about being disabled (at least sort of).

There's a second type i'm not into - The "daddy dom alpha" type has always really put me off, but they're a little less common these days, I think.

Feel free to cite a specific character as example of a trope, I don't mind.
Somebody said "the one who saw someone else in you" in your past life, yeah, so that, and also sporty but with specific short hair and over energetic ones, it just about preference I think

When it comes to tsundere characters, I'm not really a fan of characters whose "tsun" side is rude or sarcastic.

I'm also not particularly drawn to characters who are childish and overly straightforward, lack much independence, or have more of a younger-brother type of personality.

For me personally yandere types I just don't really like idea yandere Li being very obsessive and willing risk harming others just for lover

For the ones I absolutely can't listen to at all, there's sibling/brother types and Shota types. (Honestly, I don't even think this category should exist)
Then, moving down to the ones I can tolerate if the story is good, but would probably only listen to once in my entire life, there are LIs who use physical violence

To be honest, I don't really like the domineering type, or those who completely disregard the heroine's feelings, or those who are mocking and selfish. A character can be sharp-tongued, but there should be a limit , they can't go too far. I'm not particularly fond of the frivolous type either, but I can still accept them. It mainly depends on the individual route and the character's personality setting.

I tend to like caring and kind men but tend to come off as cold with the emotional range of a brick. It lessens the amount I have to focus on facial expressions and body language and focus more on the value of the words and actions of the LI instead.

Milder tsundere are quite fun for me too just because of the contradictions of everything makes them interesting but still easy to read haha.

Yandere are the most difficult for me, mostly because I like stability and yandere are anything but stable, I'm unstable enough as it is, i don't need more of it in my life lmao
