Do you like Minigames or Puzzles in your VNs?

I only enjoy puzzles or simple minigames when I have too much freetime and looking for a little challenge, provided they're well-designed and integrate into the story instead of feeling completely out of place just to drag things out. Though, when it comes to completing the rest of the game, I really wish there was a skip button, especially for those frustrating stat-raising or repetitive grinding minigames =))

For me, it depends. If I have the time and the minigame is actually fun, I'll play it properly without skipping. But if it's too difficult or I'm short on time, I'll just skip it. Usually I don't skip the first time I encounter a minigame, but if I have to replay it over and over again just to move the story forward… yeah, I'll skip it without a second thought 😅

I usually don't play mini games very much. I have plenty of time, so I prefer to play large games. Most of them are otome games, but if small games are more interesting, I occasionally play them as leisure time.:ROFLMAO:

I actually really like them! Just reading text for too long can get a bit tiring, so having minigames or puzzles mixed in gives me a better sense of engagement. I'm especially a huge fan of designs where the puzzle outcomes affect the branching storyline—it gives me a lot more motivation to keep playing. If a VN is just pure text, I sometimes get bored and end up skipping through it.😅

Im neutral with them, honestly I play VNs for the story and choices, not to play mini games 😭 but I think a great medium are things like timed responses, or another example I can think of is in bustafellows where limbo quizzes teuta on something (its been a bit long, i cant remember exactly), it feels natural and part of the story! Also i love the added challenges of timed responses

I like minigames, honestly... some games have really cute chibi character minigames, and some have puzzle ones with timers. I'm not very good at those, but I usually look up help hahaha, especially if I really can't solve the puzzle (*´ω`*)

I think I'd say I'm neutral with them. I like them if they are done in a way that's fun and not repetitive. I just don't like when they are difficult and repetitive because it ends up being time consuming and frustrating rather than fun. I think it'd be great if there was a way to skip them starting from your second playthrough or maybe have a difficulty setting. I also don't want them to make up most of the game because it takes away my focus and enjoyment of the story and characters.

I like both of them. But as for the puzzles, as long as they aren't difficult and don't require me to progress through the main story, it's not really a problem for me

Time-time games, puzzles, time pressure, I will be nervous, have to redo it several times, try more times, and get used to it.

Clear the customs once, and the next time you will skip the option.

I like puzzles. Don't time or more than 50 pieces. I'm afraid I can't finish it and the progress will be stuck.

I feel that a reasonable amount of mini-games can make otome games more enjoyable, but if they're overly repetitive or too hard to get through, it kind of defeats the point. A skip option would also let players who aren't into that kind of content have a way out.

Not really, to be honest. I always feel like they're kinda unnecessary and just there to make the game take longer. I just wanna get back to the story as fast as I can so minigames can be a little frustrating lol.:alice_hide:

I like puzzles in general, i didn't have any experience with seeing any on otome games, but I remember mini-games in Amnesia:Memories and Norn9. I liked how it was done

I'm quite fond of minigames, whether they're puzzles or other types. I particularly enjoy it when minigames feature additional character dialogue and little storylines. However, if I come across one I'm not very good at, I'd prefer it if the game allowed players to set the difficulty level before starting, so that I can enjoy the minigames without them becoming a chore. Although I enjoy playing minigames, I sometimes find it rather tedious having to replay the story just to play them too many times; I'd be much happier if I could skip them.

I like doing them in the first playthrough. Because doing them together, especially with the li, gives me a sense of immersion. But from second playthrough, it gets pretty boring so I just want to skip them all. But I personally enjoyed the battles in Haruka 6.
