General BL Games Discussion Thread

I can't recall a single good BLVN anime adaptation that was actually decent. They're either incomprehensible (Angel's Feather), have terrible pacing (dmmd and TnC), way too short (Taishou Mebiusline) or all of the above(Sukisho). It goes without saying the animation quality is below average at best and they cut out as much gay content as possible.

I don't count Gakuen Handsome as an actual BLVN because it's a an absurd parody of the genre. But the anime fitted the quality of the source material.

In general visual novel anime adaptations aren't the best, but galge/hentai/eroge and otome have a few decent entries. BLVN adaptations always get the shortnest end of the stick, so I suggest not judging games by the quality of their adaptations.

same for me, especially for matsuda because i was so into their relationship...
i wrote reviews of the first 2 games on this thread too, i was very into the survival part but romance wise the game was very bad. I guess the purpose was to make a game where the MC is getting "tortured", but also they tried to make so many elements "romantic" that im not sure what their goal actually was lol especially seeing how they seemed to be unsure of what to do with matsuda
but it was frustrating to be baited with relationships which looked promising (for ex with matsuda and takara ) only for the game to then destroy all that romantic buildup. Im not against relationships turning bad and it can have a surprise effect, but the way it was done was just frustrating and imo they couldve made this in bad ends idk especially since they still wanted to do so called "romantic" good ends.

i would still recommend the 3rd game tho since its way better romance wise. And the h scenes are great so theres that lol. The story is fine too but repetitive

togainu no chi has some survival elements but they are backgroundish. Id also be interesdted in other survival VNs/BLVNs

yeah that's pretty much the sad bl anime adaptation experienceTM. I did enjoy the sukisho anime (it felt really weird though, I agree pacing was all over the place). The 2000s-early 2010s was a weird time when they used to pump out low budget anime/OVA that were pretty just a marketing strategy to get you to play the vn, you don't really see that anymore.

I enjoyed the Gakuen Heaven anime back then(didn't even know it was originally a vn at that time), it was whimsy, fun, and didn't take itself seriously. I liked the cast and the seiyuu did an amazing job, have yet to play the game though~

Yae secret route of Suito wa Hakumei was very funny too but I'm still a fan of Hozumi more than the others Li .. Hozumi faces surpassed me. I complete the Visual novel like me a lot. :love:

Have you looked for it on the scenes gallery ? I think you should play the scene that has this CG directly from there. I think that's how I unlocked it.

hello~ i think that the game's full experience can only be appreciated in japanese. i dont want to say it's "unplayable" with a translator, but an important part of the experience will be missed.
zero spoiler explanation: some stuff just isn't easy or possible to translate directly from japanese to english with mtl and you'll end up missing key points.
spoiler(?) explanation: the game plays around with pov's and pronouns, it's just not possible to replicate that in english. in the very slim chance it gets localized, idek how it would work out.

I'm afraid this project was abandoned. Studio making it is more dead than alive, project page was deleted from their official site, and there are no mentions of it still being in progress. And now I'm sad because I learnt about it today :( There is only this page on Wayback Machine left with characters descriptions and CG samples https://web.archive.org/web/20071027023642/http://www.studio-ego.co.jp/bi/main/g_ws/index.html

Well, maybe if Angel's Feather remake sells well there is some chance yet...

Nope, I've finished the main story and only started the 'fanservice' :smug: part!
I got all the ends (got end 7 first by just being true to my feelings, hehe), though I still can't acquire two CGs, no matter what choices I take during replay:

I really want to see the third part of this crazy family drama! There is so much ground to cover, especially with other big gangs roaming around and the US government sending agents to crack down on organised crime. I have a feeling the writers are fans of Golden Kamuy SO BRING IT ON! Politics and SimRockwellCity simulation have already been hinted - why not make the scope of the story even bigger?

first one is a very cool cg with cr5. To get it i think you need to click on all/most cr5 positive options at the beginning of the rockwell arc
second cg is a cg with the janitor. I think you need to pick the janitor choice (first choice when you arrive in daivan if im correct) and maybe all janitor positive options

btw what MTL and translator do you use ?? the translation seems good !

yes ofc my thread is for that too!!!! you can put bad egg big spoilers in between spoiler banners, but its how you want!

Has anyone finished lesson and thought it was good? I'm about 2 hours in and sadly struggling to get through, which is a real surprise - I love all the other parade games!
