Do you like otome game fanfiction?

ABSOLUTELYYYY.

For me the otome game doesn't end with the story - good fanfiction expands on so many angles and so many authors are good at keeping the LI in character.

However as I've been playing unlocalized games I started reading Japanese fanfiction and I gotta say...they're even better authors :swearveng:

They're such good writers! I'd say even better than most AO3 fics.

absolutely <3
especially when it is my OTP and I am still drunken/drowned in sorrow after finishing the main game (;´༎ຶД༎ຶ`)
The first 2 weeks of grief after finishing a good otome...it needs to be studied. Only fanfiction can quench that thirst :forsaken:

The only fanfictions I liked was for Touken Ranbu, but I don't really like otome game fanfic. To me it feels like the relationship dynamic and character personalities don't feel the same as in the game and so many of them had really bad writing

Since the characters in otome games have already reached their endings, I feel like I don't need to read fanfiction; it's already enough for me..!

I like reading fan fiction, but I only read stories where the main character is well-developed.

I tend to not like fanfic in general. A lot of it feels more like wish fulfillment than it does a genuine attempt to write a new adventure in the same world, using the same characters. As someone else said, it also doesn't tend to respect the characters' established traits and personalities because it's all about writing a path that the original author decided not to, often to the detriment of the characters.

I used to read a lot of fanfiction when I was younger, but I stopped when I saw a lot of people deviating on how a character is to how they'd wish a character would act. It's like they have their own fanon instead of the canon way the character is supposed to be. It makes me a bit unsettled in a way. I know some fanart does that but I see less of that some way.
