What kind of personality would you like to see more of in otome heroines?

I feel like otome games could use some variety when it comes to the personality of the MCs! I'm talking about commercial JP titles btw. I get the impression that heroines have very standard, positive personalities in general? Which is fine and fun to (in my case) self insert as, but I'm left wanting to see variety~

Give me more tsundere MCs, give me gloomier MCs, give me an MC like Anzu from romantic killer, a Bocchi-level anxious MC, hell, give me a Tomoko-level failgirl MC!!! I'd love to see what kind of stories could come out of having those types of heroines in otome story telling style.

more menhera heroines!!!!!!!!!!! i want a heroine who is mentally unstable and it impacts all her relationships, both romantic or not!!!!!!!!!! i want her to suffer while battling her own demons in her own head!!!!!!!!!!!! i already mentioned it in another thread, but i want someone like hidari (from mekutoki, a doujin "otome"), yuuna (from love angel syndrome, yuri vn) or ame (from needy girl overdose, not otome). i think when i mentioned that, someone recommended takuyo games, but..... i really want more!!!!!!;-;

Many people suggested Tsunderes, that was going to be my suggestion! To make it a little different, I'll give another suggestion, so how about someone more enthusiastic? You know, like a mad scientist, like Hange Zoe from Attack on Titan. I really miss comedy otome games, I think having an MC with Hange's mentality would be hilarious! Another opening would be a hikikomori MC, I've never seen one before at least. Still on the comedy theme, she could be something likeTomoko Kuroki

while i agree with every response here i can also add relatable mcs! like maybe simple and common just a casual personality and lore without tragedies and traumas - girls who have nice families and relationships with family members cause sometimes it's too much having mcs that are poor broken and have no one for her :( not every good story has to have deep and traumatic things happening with mc

also i think we need more mature mcs more diversity of age because there are wide range of women that exist and play otome and more adult mcs like maybe in even 30s or 40s could be such a brilliant and funny thing! i mean despite anything players would love to relate to mc or get her in terms of actions and viewpoints so it only be amazing if we could have more variety of ages on mc

gloomier mcs for me as well.. i love love ringo from club suicide (she was an otaku too!) but i want more + bonus points if they're kind of a mess... or an energetic, no-nonsense and funny mc like hiyoko from hatoful boyfriend (i know these are wildly different but still..)

MCs that have a 'tired of all this stuff' type of vibe, bonus point if they are also sarcastic or witty. The only MC I can think of that sort of have this vibe going on is Hannah from replay boys, would love to see more like her.
