Do you use a guide or go in blind when playing otome games?

for me personally, when i'm playing a game for the first time, i like to go in blind. but after finishing one route, i start using a guide to keep the replayability to a minimum when i want to complete all the routes and unlock every ending

I play blindly, but if achieving a specific ending that depends on very specific choices and I've already tried several times and haven't succeeded, I use a guide.

Going in visual novel games in general without guides is too scary for me. What if I say the wrong things? :lapi_depressed: Also even when you finish a game without using guides its becomes a hassle to find the right options that lead you to the ending you want (this probably depends on the games writing and stuff but anyways). Or maybe its the charm of visual novels that I'm such a lame gamer to realize? Like reading those make your own adventure books?

It really depends on the game, but usually I start blind and use a guide if I feel like I need to. I like to know what order I will be seeing the ends in, but I don't have a set order, it depends on the game and character. I usually like to see best end first.

First thing: I look at the guide and if there too many dialogue options and too many endings I go straight along the guide to not miss anything. If there love catch and not so many ending I prefer to go blindly!

I use guides all the time, but I'm thinking if I should try playing blind at least once 🤔

I rarely use guides. But sometomes if I don't want my favorite LI to die or stuck with stats-raising. Like Tokimeki Memorial girsl side and Anniversary no Kuni no Alice.....

I usually use a guide for games I'm interested in and want to 100% them but for shorter ones I go in blind

I use guide for pure visual novel otome games, but for those with battle and leveling elements, I like to figure them out on my own first.

Maybe it's just me but I only go in blind when I like all the LIs' character designs. So I don't mind whose route I end up with or what ending I get (I always save at every choice so i can just load back again if I get bad ending). But when my eyes lock onto a specific LI after seeing the poster, cover, or trailer, I will use guide for that one.

I will use guide when I play as I want to collect all the CGs, endings etc. of the game.

I always swear to god I'll go in blind but then halfway in (read:early on in the story) I get so scared of fucking up that I inevitably either drop the game wholesale for years or I keep hitting that sweet sweet guide gratification. I oftentimes intentionally say insane things in public to watch my friends squirm and have a low sense of social anxiety, but a relaxed game that promises to punish you by making cool people dislike you instills so much anxiety in me that I start clawing myself apart from the sheer terror. just a peek into my twisted mind

i keep wanting to play tokimemo gs and i love those games so much but the sheer variability in those games scare me so much i unintentionally keep quitting them... of courrse theyre tense but theyre not that intense once you get the hang of them, and the games can be quite forgiving... I SHIT MY PANTS FROM FEAR EVERY TIME I SPEAK TO HAZUKI KEI!!!!!!!!!

I don't know if it's something wrong with me or with the developers of otome games, but every single time I try to play a game blind without walkthrough, I ended up with the most bizzare and horrible bad endings, which completely kills the desire to continue playing 🥲
So now I prefer to play games safety with a guide. Plus, it saves a lot of time

Hey, just passing through, but i asked my online friend and they answered my inquiries with using AI for several situations.
