Unnecessary hate for yuri in otoges!!

Mostly a vent post sorry!! I was browsing this one reddit post and supported this one commenter on how yuri routes in otome games are so good and trust me the amount of hate we got was hilarious??? Like why are we being so negative?? I thought we were better than men(who get all so disgusted at being called gay even as a joke) and were girl's girls!? Also it wasn't like we were saying the full game should be yuri but to have just one or two like in gekka ryouran.. For me yuri route is like a breath of fresh air. I might not be a lesbian but what's wrong with enjoying a lil bit of yuri?

Then I was told "go play yuri games if u want yuri route so much" like yup no way I wanna play those over sexualised yuri games catered especially for men's fetishes. I only love yuri when I see in otome games coz u would rarely find such nice and wholesome story anywhere else. Even in amare yuri routes are somewhat lacking but maybe that's just me ¯⁠\⁠_⁠(⁠ツ⁠)⁠_⁠/⁠¯

eh, i kinda agree that if you want to see yuri, you should play and support yuri games. why settle for crumbs in a genre thats inherently heterosexual, after all? i sure know that i dont play otome games for yuri, and i dont play yuri games for het

but on the other hand, yuri in otome is actually something thats not exactly out of place, as long as its executed properly and doesnt take up like 50% of the game. unlike bl, for example, which does not belong to the genre at all. though its weird how people are so quick to defend bl garbage in otome, but are not open to the idea of yuri. and yet when its time to bash otome as a genre, theyre the first to use "yuri in otome" card. pisses me off to be honest LMAO they try so hard to be "woke" and "progressive", but the way they act makes them seem like nothing but petty fetishists who hate women and female spaces. oh well

Exactly my point!! It's really toxic how they won't hesitate to say it wouldn't even hesitate to say those two lis have better chemistry than with mc but if it's yuri with mc herself they be like blasphemous lmao. Also I like these crumbs rather than full yuri since I won't have any man to simp over(guilty)

i kinda get it.. but at the same time doomed yuri or half-assed yuri gets really annoying after a while..... (in my personal opinion of course)
lets see if hyakume no hananie gets popular enough to start a trend!
