im a low spender. ive spent money on suspects: mystery mansion, among us, mr love, love and deepspace, love nikki, shining nikki, and infinity nikki. but currently, i only regularly spend money on infinity nikki because im more into that game. i enjoy collecting the outfits and abilities i need. i feel like the outfits are more useful in infinity nikki because its an open world game, so i enjoy wandering around with my outfit collection.

i dont play suspects: mystery mansion or among us anymore. back then, i played both games regularly, so i spent some money on skins in suspects: mystery mansion and among us.

I've never spent money on an otomoe game before. Primarily, it was because I got into them when I was younger and didn't think there was any chance I could ever convince my parents to spend money on a game, lol. Now it's because there aren't many games I feel that level of compulsion to spend money on.

Obviously, I would love to support creators, but for the most part, if I don't enjoy the free chapters enough to want to see what happens next and spend money, I won't continue. One game that isn't an otome that I spent money on was the visual novel Our Life: Beginnings and Always. I absolutely loved this game and recommend it to anyone interested in interactive fiction type games, another one was Arcadie: Second-Born (but tbh I didn't enjoy the full game as much as the demo, but i think it's because i played the game too quickly and had set an unfair standard in my mind from the demo that the game would have been longer than it actually was lol, the ceond instalment to this game is great though).

I'd probably spend money to get all my old Voltage Inc. games back: Enchanted in the Moonlight, Kiss Me on Clover Hill, Star-Crossed Myth, and True Love Sweet Lies. I only played these when I was younger, but only the free prologue and desperately wished that I had the confidence to ask my parents to buy the rest for me🤧. Being an adult now means I have to prioritise other financial commitments first before even considering splurging on a game😂💔

I prefer one-time purchase otome games over those that require spending money to unlock R-18 content, hidden storylines, or simply to pull gacha (like *Love and Deepspace* or other mobile otome titles).

While I have played a few mobile otome games, I've never wanted to waste my money on items, character outfits, or gacha pulls for rare cards.

I don't usually spend any sort of money at all on games but that's only because I'm broke T_T the few times that I purchase something, I'd have to like that media for a while because I don't wanna spend money on something that I will lose interest in after a month.

LnD is the only otome game I've ever spent money on. Other than that, I mostly spend on other types of gacha games or once purchase games.

I'm pretty low-budget. Used to just spend a little here and there over time to pull gacha. The only gacha game I've ever spent money on specifically because I genuinely wanted to support it is Arknights. It's basically a game made by art lovers for art lovers. Though sometimes I get a little too into supporting it and end up going over my budget 💦
For some games, I just don't spend at all if I already know I'll quit within a few months, or I don't really feel like the game is worth spending money on that much.

I never spent money on mobile otomes, i prefer one time purchase on pc/console. However... I spent just a little on interknot memberships to get m6 Hugo from zzz since he's my fav. But it was an exception because each time i think about donating in gachas i remember how much money i spent on genshin and stop myself.😭 I'd better buy some merch on this money instead tbh

I tend to get bored of things pretty easily, so I try not to spend too much money on mobile games and the like.
I don't really hesitate to buy complete, standalone otome games, but I try to be careful with spending on things like outfits and cards because there's no real end to it.
Even so, when it comes to something I end up loving for a long time, I tend to loosen the purse strings and spend quite a lot!

i'm someone who's just interested in gaming in general so i spend a good chunk on money on games (there's like 5 games i want releasing within like a three month span in 2027 orz). i heavily prefer an one time purchase rather than spending in gacha (and if i do, it's always a 30 day pass or a deal) because i can't really stick to gachas consistently

I spend money on games and foods! I mean I am working full time, but I always kinda limited myself. Also, I am picky with characters and story plots so I only have less than 10 otome games so far. I don't play old games either no matter how popular they are. So I spend money efficiently in otome game. Its like buying two or three games for each year. For other games, I only played overwatch 2 in the past but I still spend less money in there too. I think most of the money goes to travel and food.

Genshin tooks my money a lot so I share account with my boyfriend. He boss and I farm. We explore different area. Its like team projects. For pulling too, its two person money so its efficient.

I gladly spend money on otome games and drama CDs, but strictly on complete, standalone titles. I avoid gacha and microtransactions because I dislike paywalls and repetitive grinding. If a game offers compelling writing, top-tier voice acting, and mature narrative depth, I'm always happy to pay full price to support the developers directly.

I do spend money on drama CD, but I'm pretty selective about what I buy. If I really like the art, characters, or the story sounds like my type, I don't mind paying for it. I also like supporting the creators when I genuinely enjoy their work. But if I'm not sure I'll like the game, I usually wait for reviews or a sale first.

I will try the trial version of the game first to see if the content, character design, painting style and CG attract me.

You will definitely spend money on the works you really like. Because I want to support the creators. But I only choose a one-time buy-off girl game: I don't want to wait for future updates. Because the game provider went bankrupt or stopped development, the work was interrupted, which was disappointing.

Especially mobile games. It's too expensive.

I tend to purchase localized games and games that were originally developed in English. If it's in Japanese, I generally won't pay for it until the localization becomes available, since I don't really want to pay for it twice.

I have spent money on mobile games before, but it's very easy to overspend. I'd much rather make a one-time purchase of a game I can play on my computer or a gaming system.

Last, I don't mind spending money on games because I want to support the creators. I want them to continue to make new and interesting games, and I want them to continue to localize games that the general public wouldn't have access to otherwise.

Usually, I spend money for monthly pass if I play the game daily. I'll spend more if I really like the game and have attachment to the character or friends I'm playing with.

I chose to spend when i think that the money and quality of the game worth the money that i spent because that's mean i support the dev/creator and thanking them for making the game enjoyable. there's some games that i buy mainly is one time-purchased title one. As for mobile gacha games, so far it is genshin impact that i don't play anymore and OG arknights that i still play until now.

I'll happily purchase a game if it's a one time purchase on PC or console. I am really not into gacha/freemium games, I don't want to spend money on something so anti-consumer.

When it comes to buying games on PC, I am MUCH more likely to purchase the game if it has Steam achievements. I'm a huge completionist and I can't resist the dopamine that comes from 100% completing a game. I get quite sad when a new otome game comes out on Steam and it doesn't have achievement support (even if TEMPEST why!!!!!!!!!!!!). I like it because it motivates me to complete all the routes and it's a good way of tracking my progress. I wish a bunch of otome games had Steam achievements—Nameless, Dandelion, Steam Prison, OZMAFIA.

Another big factor is price. Steam is generally quite good, especially if it's a more popular Otomate title. I got a Steam key for Amnesia for £1, 7'scarlet and Hakuoki Kyoto Winds for £3, etc. Some titles are much steeper, Butterfly's Poison and Arcana Famiglia only go as low as around £25 on sale.

I honestly avoid purchasing games on Switch because the prices are never as good. I don't know if this is an unpopular opinion but I don't think an otome visual novel is worth £45??? That's the retail price of a lot of otome games on Switch. I don't think a visual novel should cost the same as buying a triple A game. Idk. Plus Switch games don't have any achievements, so combined with the price I'm not really motivated to purchase games for that platform.

I tend to spend money on games if there's a really steep sale going on, but for hella expensive games and also for times where I don't have a lot of money, I do rely on downloaded games…

Nah, I never spend money on otome games, especially ones with gacha. But I'll spend money on a few visual novels tho.

I barely spend money on gacha games, but I buy limited editions of nearly every otome game that comes out :)
