please help me find this bl doujinshi!

hi hi! as i said in the title, i need help with finding a certain bl doujinshi i read.. a while ago. my memory is extremely scuffed, but maybe some of you beautiful people might recognize it..

what i remember is that i read it around 2016-17. it wasnt old, so im assuming it was released somewhere in 2012-15. im 98% sure it was a oneshot, but there is a chance it was part of an anthology (i read it as a standalone title though).

unfortunately i dont remember almost anything about the plot.. it involved two friends. college students? i think they were living together?? or at least crashing at one of them's place occasionally. there was some dramatic tension going on between them, which culminated in one of them eventually "attacking" (raping) the other right in the hallway(? it definitely wasnt in bed) after a small dramatic conflict. the last(?) page is the victim looking back and seeing the attacker crying. so, unrequited love (i think).

i THINK the title involved something about a bird and/or a cage, but im not sure about that at all

im sorry.. this is literally all i can give. but its been on my mind for years now.. so if someone is able to help, id be extremely happy...... thank you in advance!

Admittedly, this doesn't sound like anything I've read myself, so I can't name anything right off the bat, I'm sorry.

I know you've said the details you gave are all you could give at the moment, buuuut do you perhaps happen to remember some details about the reading experience itself? Like, do you remember where you could have read it, or the language it was in? Would you say the artstyle was like uhhh cutesy moe or like more of an "average" BL style?

I'm sorry I'm not being the most helpful, but a part of me is hoping that poking around with questions like that could help jog your memory a bit.

the artstyle was pretty "modern" for the time i think? it wasnt anything heavily stylized like harada or ogeretsu tanaka, just your average anime. not moe too! both boys werent too young-looking or too masculine
i read it in russian on a piracy site (readmanga or mintmanga i think?), but the manga itself was definitely japanese. i tried searching for it on the same website(s), but unfortunately couldnt find anything..;;

Might be a very long shot but considering the content you described, maybe looking up on some NSFW-specific platforms that allow searching with a combo of language tags and more specific tags could do the trick? We might never know if someone thought "hey let's post this here too" and posted it on some hentai platform considering manga aggregator sites and NSFW websites kind of just tend to repost stuff as far as I'm aware. Though I'm also aware this idea pretty much sounds like "hey, how about looking for a needle in a haystack?" ;;

this is a good idea.. i have attempted to search for it previously, but unfortunately nothing came out of it. the issue is that some tags might be missing on the website(s), or i might be remembering them wrong.. but then again, when i was searching for another bl doujinshi, i did manage to find it after years....;-;
