what's your least favourite type of LI?

i've picked out a few lis here that i don't like that much... i can't quite say whether or not they have anything in common!!

- Genki/loud/optimistic characters. I just find it grating + I don't even like overly positive people in real life lmao.
e.g. Impey from Code Realize, Red from Nameless. I also don't like red hair because it often is accompanied by this character archetype.

- Younger brother type characters like Yoosung from Mystic Messenger. Idk it just irritates me, I feel like a babysitter.

- Yanderes when they are trying to harm the MC. I love yanderes, but it has to be done in a specific way for me to enjoy it.
I like a character who is obsessive and fiercely loyal, loves in an unhealthy way, worships the MC, is willing to harm others out of jealousy & possessiveness. But I don't se the point if they are trying to kill or physically harm the MC.

- This isn't a character archetype but I really don't like LIs who don't know how to clean/cook LMAO. It's giving manbaby. Kent's route in Amnesia Later was really putting me off because wdym you don't know how to put a sheet on a mattress. Or cook?? I've had experiences with men like this irl so honestly it just triggers me lol.

There isnt any particular type of LI I would say I hate, but I dont like characters who have hero complex.
 
I don't hate the arrogant, domineering type—I just don't like guys who ignore the MC's wishes and expect her to just "follow his lead." I love a confident guy, but he still needs to treat the MC as an equal and respect her choices.
 
I'm not a fan of obsessive LIs that try to control the mc or any kind of harmful behavior towards. Like what do you mean just looking or talking to another man can make LI jealous. This annoys me because it means LI don't trust mc. I also don't really like the young brother type either because they are too immature.
 
The cute/noisy type? Characters like Heishi from Norn9 or Tokisaka from Olympia Soirée. I can even like them as characters, but when it comes as routes I don't feel much reading their romance with the MCs from their games...
 
Definitely the overly cheerful, sunshine-y, optimistic type who feels kind of shallow or hollow. Especially the type you often see as the main character in idol series.

Whenever an LI like that appears in an otome game, I almost always end up skipping his route. I just can't get invested in that kind of character, even if he's supposed to be the sweet, lovable one.
 
Any sort of overly domineering attitude or any form of machismo are a big no for me - eye roll and never touching that route again. On a lesser extent, I don't particularly like frivolous playboy types, especially when they're too pushy/leery, and overly childish characters, either
 
I can't stand the players and overly flirty ones. No idea how, but I thought Kyouya from WakuDeki would be a pain because he fits this description perfectly, but he somehow managed to redeem himself lol. That's rare, though. They get on my nerves most of the time, and I can't stand it when games show them with other women. They always end up hurting the protagonist because they seem to be unfaithful or don't take her feelings seriously. I get why people like them, but the trope is not for me.
 
Personally, I'm not really into LIs who are overly innocent, quirky, cute, or childlike. I do like energetic and cheerful LIs, though, so it's interesting how there can be such a fine line between the two for me.

I also tend to struggle with LIs who are significantly older than the MC, as well as very young shota-type LIs. Those two types are difficult for me regardless of their personality—I just can't really get past the way they look.

The ones I dislike the most are womanizers and tsunderes (lol, why would I want LI to humiliate and insult me?!)
 
I don't like characters that are aggressive and disrespectful. It just makes my blood pressure shoot up when I'm playing.
 
Ugh, I really don't like womanizers or LIs that are always humiliating the MC, it's such a turn off.

Basically thisss! I'm not a fan of huge age gaps in general.
But my least favourite LIs are the ones with an overly childlike personality... they feel like a younger brother rather than a romantic interest, I just can't...
 
i really don't like the twinky high pitched and energetic li, it gets really annoying if theyre a li but if theyre a side character i wont see often, thats fine. other than that i'm not too crazy about yandere li's
 
Not just LIs but for any characters, I don't like a character who basically can't solve any problems and just panic and do things that make everything worse. Another one is someone who doesn't listen. I know sometimes they do that to make the story more dramatic, but please, just shut up for a second and listen to what they're trying to tell you...
