Title explains it all.

Well, not really. This post was more in the spirit of goofiness and in light of the new release for the remastered (?) Prince of Tennis game on Steam that I had wishlisted. My question is simple: What is a sport you would like the LIs to play or an otome game to focus on?

Funnily enough, my answer is not tennis. Baseball is my one true love (My9Swallows, please get localized). Something about the uniforms is so cool, and it's also partly the fact that my favorite manga's main character is an ace pitcher.

Indulge my silliness and give me your reasons!

Bonus question: Team sport or individual? Why?

I remember Starry Sky features the MC and LI in the Archery club. I love the uniform, the CG where the LI drawing a bow and the tournament! Other than that probably I would love to see volleyball or figure skating, because I love Haikyuu and Yuri on Ice lol.

UGH YES ARCHERY COUNTS!! I AGREE.

The equipment, poise, and pinpoint accuracy needed for that is so attractive o(TヘTo). I just searched for archery otome and the only thing that came up was Solmare, so that's gone with the wind SOBS.

You are making me wish for things we do not have OTL!!! I WOULD EAT THAT UP TOO.

I'm desperately googling competitive swimming otomes, but none are showing up and I am deeply upset ಥ_ಥ

Swimming would be my go-to too. Topless guys everywhere you look... do I need to say more?

Ski jumping! The women's division is sidelined so much! The love interests don't have to necessarily be involved in the sport - they could be 'orbiters' of that world, like a fan, a coach, a photographer etc.

if the focus is on dancing, it needs to be 3D, right? I wonder if it will include some kind of rhythm game (like Rhythm Heaven or Audition Online)?

LI who can do ballet!! I WOULD LOVE TO SEE IT!

I like where your mind is at... and I mean,, there's a reason why I was really into Free! when I was younger, and it definitely wasn't the plot

There were a couple really cute fangames for Haikyuu on itch, but both haven't update in quite a while, which is a shame... I would love a game with that concept.
I think basketball would be really interesting, too. But maybe it's just the slam dunk fan in me talking

It's quite niche, so there are no ski jumping otome 🥹. But, yes, thank you for bringing this up! I love to see a range of athlete LIs, and it would be so good to have an FL who is similarly passionate about a sport too. I think that would open up a lot of interesting dialogue, dynamics, and general gushing over characters' respective sports.

The only one I found so far online was a rhythm game on the DS called Princess Debut. It's a rhythm game where MC gets isekai'ed into a fantasy world where she dances with princes. You can pick different music and dance styles, which is SO CUTE.

On the note of an LI who can do ballet--YES, AGREE!!! Just imagining the music choices and the CGs for a game with this is making me weepy.

Another vote for ice skating! I love to see the different costumes and the artistry as they perform. It would make really pretty CGs.

But honestly, any sport that involves sweating and panting would be pretty hot (plus points if they also cry) 😌
 
Basket ! it would be nice to have like an otome game but with characters playing that like kuroko no basket THE DREAAAM T.T (idk if it already exists and i'm not aware of its existence)
