Did an otome game ever change/influence your life in any way?

For me, I went into engineering solely because of Seven from MysMe... He is still my motivation to push through the hardships I face in the field. What about you?

Honestly, otome as a whole was a huge influence on my life. I grew up in a very misogynistic and closed-off country, so otome was the first thing that allowed me to somewhat embrace feminine hobbies which, up until then, I was very ashamed of.

Shikishima's route from Bad Apple Wars was very inspiring back when I got diagnosed with ASD. And I totally get you for MysMes, it's a very comforting game imo!

I would say that lots of otome games give me a blueprint about romantic relationship. Many years have passed and I can still remember the story in Tears of Themis (I didn't play it anymore though) and how I had been touched. It is the game that push me to think how love can be generated, what form love, and why does people always use love as a "final weapon" in most of fairy tales.

And since then my taste become fixed, I love protagonists who retains kindness, brave and justice hhh, Ushio Ayane is my favorite script writer, and I also love fc such as characters in Hakuoki and Kanetsugu in Haruka 7. Might be a traditional taste but watching those stories make me feel positive, and do help me to have a good mindset :)

At first, I played otome just for fun. Along the way, I find many people with similar interest as me and we become good friends. Because I really like to play game, I was lucky to get into a game company and worked there for a few years. I also participate in developing some otome games there, so it changed my path in life.

My first ever otome game was Starry sky, it actually motivated me to try to learn japanese, I did my exchange as a high school student in japan because of this game too!

Now, as an adult, I am married and live in japan and named one of my children after one of the characters from this game. My whole life changed because of one visual novel, which is wild!

I think my mentality has changed a bit since playing Otome Game. In real life, I don't want to get married and have children because I really like the male protagonist in the game world, which leads to my lack of interest in real-life love.

I have my own independent and free thinking, and I don't want to rely on anyone. Life should be free and unrestrained, and I should live the life I want.

The world in the game is very healing and beautiful. I personally believe that living a happy and healing life every day is the best gift for oneself!

Otome games are one of my favorite forms of entertainment, especially when real life is stressful; they offer a brief respite.

Good scripts or character designs usually make me happy, feeling fulfilled and even memorable.

The background music, opening themes, ending themes, and character introduction songs allow me to temporarily escape reality, relax, and forget unpleasant people and things.

Immersing myself in various types of otome games is a kind of enjoyment in life, as long as I don't become overly addicted.

When I was young, I had adopted most of their characters' typing habits (text emojis are pretty common, but not really adopted when it comes to exchanging messages online) bcs i do find it adorable LMFAOOOO. btw goodluck with engineering, im rooting for you bud ><

It's happy to know you love Ayane too!! My favorite route in Norn9 is Nijo Sakuya, that's the best osananajimi stroy I have ever read! I still didn't got chance to play sins of kaleido (too busy these days). Just for curious, have you played even if tempest as well?

Not in such a life-changing way, but otome games have definitely had a positive impact on my life! They helped me through some difficult periods and always gave me something to look forward to after a long day. They're also one of the reasons I started learning japanese because I wanted to enjoy the games in their original language instead of relying entirely on translations. I'm still learning, but it's been a lot of fun!

Thanks to otome games I satisfied my demand for romance. And I developed love for Japanese culture. I hope to study Japanese properly and travel there one day. So I would say, playing otoge helped me find passion for Japanese language and culture
