Whats an Ll's trait (either personality or looks wise) that immediately turns you off?

For me personally I hate gentlemanly types that overly coddle the mc just because she's a woman that stuff pisses me off so much lol. Looks wise It's not really a specific trait but I really dislike the look of any semi realistic 3d Lls from 3d otome games. I tried but I just can't, its just too uncanny for me and I get weirded out 😭

A guy being a "bad boy" really turns me off; I hate men who play mind games and act like God's gift to women! I also hate "playboys", they tend to be so spoiled and uninteresting. Whether in real life or in otome games, I just can't stand guys like that🫩

And as for looks... if the art style looks too juvenile or resembles those AI-generated images (which are super ugly), I automatically drop the game.

Omg the artstyle yes I forgot to mention! I'm very picky with artstyles, It's a shame because I've seen a lot of praises for some indie titles but I can't get myself to even try them because the artstyle is just not to my taste.

For me personally it's the younger guy type. An older woman/younger man couple isn't my personal cup of tea even if the gap is as small as a year. This might be my personal experience but the times I've tried to give the younger LI a shot in games (or read them in manga/manhwa) I feel like they always overly focus on the fact she's older like it's a huge deal. It feels as though the pairing is "older woman/younger man" first and an actual couple second. That or they make the LI a bit too immature for me.

I'm sure this archetype has been done well before but it's just not for me. As for looks nothing is coming to mind atm but I'm not a fan of overly pointy chins or proportions that look too exaggerated. Indie game artstyles are a hit or miss but I try to overlook it if the game is that good.

I don't really appreciate weak and powerless female protagonists who rely on the male protagonist and otherwise achieve nothing, without actively improving themselves or making any effort.
As for the 3D character designs, I'm not used to them, regardless of gender. It's like watching AI characters; their facial features and expressions are unnatural. :frown:

我不是很欣賞軟弱無力的女主角,需要依靠男主角,否則一事無成,自己不積極改善或付出努力.
3D人物外型,無論男女,我都看不習慣,就像在看AI角色,五官表情不太自然.:frown:

Personality-wise, I'm immediately put off by characters who are overly sexist, controlling, or constantly look down on the heroine. It's hard for me to enjoy a route when I feel like they don't respect the heroine.
Appearance-wise, I'm not a fan of characters who look overly childish or like little kids. I prefer designs that give off a slightly more mature vibe, even if the character is young.

For me, it's LIs who look noticeably older, like middle-aged or older. I don't mind immortal characters who are technically hundreds or even thousands of years old if they still look around the MC's age. But if they actually look much older and you can clearly tell they're older than the MC, they're just not my type. They don't really make my heart flutter. 🥲

For LI: unreliable, manipulative and playboy combine with ore-sama type. There's a game where the LI is always repetitively told MC to stay in home and play her role as a wife rather than joining battle, only ends up him being unreliable. Just imagining it makes my head boils.

For MC: naive, gullible, easy to manipulate. This is why i really like MC who's smart and independent.

The "I'm a man, I know better" vibe. It's even worse when the game portraits it as a normal and caring behavior. Ugh. In one game there was a route I had great expectations for, until it was ruined irreparebly in FD with this kind of attitude.

Visual vise, I'll drop a game faster then light if LI looks like MC's grandfather. Strange enough, I'm ok with 100+ year old characters if they look young

I was reading everyone's replies, but most of them are things that I like lmao, except for art and MCs.
I know, bad taste in 2D fictional men.

But what comes to my mind is physical age. I don't like visibly older men. If they're thousands of years old but still look young, that's okay for me. But LIs like Benkei are a total "no." I can still play their routes, but I probably won't like them.

True. I also don't like LI whose appearance looks very old and age gap is too wide with MC. I think 6 years age gap is still okay. Middle age LI is not my type, better if they have the same age or not too old/young. I also hate LI who looks and act like a child, for friends maybe it's okay, but for a love interest is a big no.

I wouldn't go as far as to say it's a turn off, more like characters with such attributes generally do not appeal to me.

1) The cutesy type. Many otome games have at least one character that fits into this stereotype -- they tend to be shorter compared to the other LIs, have larger puppy-esque eyes, and an innocent, almost childlike/childish aura about them. Even worse (for me) if they're overly cheerful, hyper, loud and boisterous. And even more minus points if they're wearing, like, frilly shorts, constantly winking, sticking their tongues out, or making peace signs, HAHAHA. I like characters who are/look/act/dress more mature.

2) This probably sounds funny given that I've just mentioned above that I like mature/mature-looking characters, but I also don't like facial hair. I like my LIs clean-shaven.

3) Characters that have overly patriarchal views, or say things that suggest they do. Example: "Ahhh, I can't imagine how happy I'd be to come home to you every night, eating the food you lovingly prepared for me." I get that it's supposed to be romantic, and some people DO find it romantic, but I don't quite appreciate being indirectly told that I should become a housewife after we get hitched, haha. I know most otome content comes from Japanese/Asian creators, and being Asian myself, I'm aware that sometimes it's inevitable/unavoidable considering how gender roles are still rather clearly defined in Asian societies. But yeah, sometimes it kills the mood a bit to have a LI say something along those lines.

4) It's usually the MC who gets written in such a way, but basically one who is overly pure, trusting, and airheaded. Even worse if she's a klutz on top of all that, HAHA. I don't expect all MCs to be depicted as highly capable over-achievers with an IQ of 180, but the REALLY dumb and naive ones annoy me too much. I'm the type to self-insert, and such MCs make it VERY hard for me to do so. 😅

Oh my god, the way I instinctively got pissed off just reading your hypothetical example :ROFLMAO: definitely agree on that one

Womanizers/cheaters like I immediately lose all interest in the character 😭😭 the character could have its design created in a lab for my liking but if it turns out he's the womanizer type I'm out lmao

That kind of male chauvinism or excessive pampering of the female lead makes it seem like she can't do anything without him, or he constantly belittles her or others. Frankly, I find these kinds of people annoying in real life, and even if they were in a game as romance options, my feelings wouldn't change. And then there's the domineering CEO trope—I don't know why, but I just don't like it. And the 'gentleman' who's polite to all women always gives me a gigolo vibe. I much prefer the British gentlemen in Sherlock Holmes series—polite and respectful of women.
